    Going to the Dark Side

Based on my recent experience with the new Road 5 tires, I would caution against using them on the FJR, especially if you like the twisties. The pics and linked video below are of my Road 5 rear at around 8,500 km (5,300 miles). Worth noting that in the nearly 300k miles on my FJR I've gone...

    Going to the Dark Side

I have now done about 1,500 miles on the Toyo 205/50 17 CT, doing a lot of varying types of twisty roads, testing it as slow-speed maneuvers, etc. Basically, I have been trying to confirm for myself that running a CT on a longish trip would not only enable not have to change tires but also let...

    Going to the Dark Side

Ross, this is why I was trying to confirm. I've just mounted this tire but will keep investigating the RE040...

What's The Best Way To "UN" Compress A Tire

I've had success in the past using a ratchet strap on the center of the tire once it's mounted on the rim to squeeze the sides out so that they make enough contact to help seat the bead.

Ground Spiders & Gen II Reliability - Bullet Proof ?

I cut and soldered ALL the spiders and separately grounded all but the two ECU spiders back in 2009 when one of mine failed. This way I will never need to do this job again or worry about it causing me an issue.

    boats.net

For a while now I've seen that Boat.net and Partzilla have been more or less the same entity. I've previously ordered parts from Partzilla and the box arrived from Boats.net. I'm guessing Boats.net finally decided to split the two units and focus Partzilla on bike parts...

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

This looks great, and sounds like it is actually functional.

    WynPro Air Induction Cover Plates

I originally removed my PAIR system at around 50K miles, and the little "diaphragms" were completely blocked up with gunk, i.e. effectively blocking the airflow anyway. So based on this I figure all this PAIR crap is just designed to pass EPA certification and not to work for the life of the...

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

I'm very interested in seeing what you come up with as well. Having regular tube bars would open up lots of possibilities for various riser and set back options.

    Mechanical Repair Advice Needed

Those readings would indicate problems with the engine that are much more severe and terminal than a valve adjustment or head work would fix.

    Lithium Ion Booster Packs

I agree that there is a lot of crap on the market, and I've had a cheaper unit go **** up on me before (when I actually needed it . This unit seems quite decent so far and you can pick one up for about US$75...

    Lithium Ion Booster Packs

I have one, always in one of the panniers. On the FJR specifically, I find that the clip-on battery terminals provided are a real PITA to use, so I have used a locally available quick connect plug meant for trailers/campers with leads that are permanently attached to my battery and the quick...
