Any MSF ridercoaches on this forum?

I prefer to teach BRCs over the ERC. However, I have used my AE to teach three ERCs. The AE took some practice to nail the u-turn box.

    MSF Instructors

Good luck on your class. I just hit the two year mark teaching. I really enjoy teaching new students. There is nothing like getting feedback from a student that something you said kept them from crashing and being hurt or killed. The only down side, for me anyway, is the dang thigh/butt cramps...

    XM radio install

I have had my Starcom for over a year and tried to install it a hand full of times, but keep removing it and putting it in the tank bag due to static. On my second install attempt, I used a power filter for the Starcom, did not correct the issue. On my third install attempt, I ran the wires in...

    An interesting AE exercise

With a ignition failure the bike loses all power, so the electric shift does not work. If, someone runs out of gas or somethign along those lines it would be easy to get the bike in neutral.

    An interesting AE exercise

As a AE owner who suffered a ignition failure at 70mph in 5th gear I can confirm the clutch will not lock the rear wheel if the bike shuts down. There is however a need to get off the road in a hurry. Once the bike comes to a stop the clutch will prevent the bike from being rolled off the...

Error Codes - None in memory. I am told errors codes log in memory, but the engine light on will not log in memory. Bike runs the same with engine light on. PCIII - Yes O2 Sensor - Good point, it was disconnected prior to them working on the bike. However, I do not know if they plugged it...

    Documenting a engine light

As mentioned in this thread, my bike recently had some work done on it. Since then the engine light has came on twice. The first time was on the 19th, then today, the 25th. I am going to keep a log of the engine light issue in hope that it helps the dealer figure out the issue. Here is what I...

    Oil Leak - Dealer Serviced

I go to pick my bike up and learn they can not find any reason the engie light would come on. On my way back to work I reach down to turn off the heated grips and the knob is loss and the whole unit pushes down into the panel. I look closer and I am missing the screw that hold the panel beside...

    Oil Leak - Dealer Serviced

Robert, my mechanic used to be a mechanic for the Honda dealer while he went to school for a better career. After schooling he moved on to be an aircraft mechanic, and does that full time. He works on bikes part time and I trust his service skills. The only think I need to keep in mind is I must...

    FJRF003.1: Ignition Switch

The day the recall was issued I contacted Yamaha and the dealer who has my bike now. I wanted the recall to be completed at the same time as other repairs. Both parties had no clue, however Yamaha was going to research it and get back to me. The next day I received the call back and was informed...
