CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

I'm planning a ride from Indiana to southern Alaska in June with a local Goldwing riding friend. We should be able to include this event on the way back down since I want to go up the coast then back across through Calgary then cross the boarder into North Dakota.

Anyone with Personal Experience Doing a Moto-Charlie Tour?

1600km is only 994mi. If you were out each day for 8+ hours, you could easily ride 270 miles of curvy roads. How did these mikes get spread out over 11 days? Were there hours of sightseeing each day too?

    SFO 2017 - Official Thread

And now I must bow out. Due to an issue with my rental and winter weather forecasted near home Sunday, I will try this event next year!

Looks like rain for sure on Saturday now. Campers be aware!

If you don't make it - can I have your bike?

You can put in print what ever you want over at the other sandbox! Sounds like the unmentionable stuff is the color commentary of this story

Cold weather low-grip = low side this morning

I did the same thing three years ago on a round about down the street from my house when it was 31º. $9k in damage, including Two Bros exhaust and riding gear.

    SFO 2017 - Official Thread

I'm 80% probable for attending this but with fencer not going I'd rather stay in the motel. Anyone looking for a roommate?

    Low Speed Practice Range

Yes, the Advance Course I did had a similar section for us to maneuver through. Honestly, the best part was being the only non-cruiser and the only one with ABS. Watching the Harley's and such have difficulties made for an entertaining afternoon, including seeing two drop (only to the footboards...

Went down this p.m. on my way home from work

Don't make any decisions yet. Wait a couple weeks, then see how you feel about riding. I've been down twice, once in high school in 1980 and once 2.5 years ago. The first time really shook me up and I walked my bike back home, just down the street from my accident. The most recent accident was...

I guess I'm going to have a little more time for riding now.

Congrats! More time to ride! Oh, never mind, you live in the frigid north...

    ABS light continuously flashing

I believe Fred is correct. I've had mine stay glowing once in a while until I tap both brake levers. But your issue of no start, hummmm...

Cross my heart and hope to die

My ex-father-in-laws had these injections done and it saved his vision for over a decade before his heart quit. I agree with @pants, do what you can while you can. You never know when you will no longer be able to enjoy certain pleasures or life itself. Carpe diem!

    NERDS 5 - We're on a roll now!

We're in Hermitage, PA tonight. Plan to arrive late tomorrow night and not sure about the weather Friday...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Changed oil and cleaned the stainless filter to get ready for NERDS!

    2014ES or 2016A?

A poll was started about the reliability of the ES suspension and the few over 50k miles see no significant change from new. Many others have 25-50k with no issues. Longevity does not appear to be a valid concern from our experience. The suspension will outlast most rider's willingness ride one...

    NERDS 5 - We're on a roll now!

Sounds like following a group riding the routes we want to do will be the best opt-in since so many are familiar with the roads! We plan to arrive Thursday night but we are staying across the street at the B&B since we've never stayed at one before. We'll pop over to say hi and figure out...

    NERDS 5 - We're on a roll now!

I don't have a problem riding on gravel or unpaved roads, afterall my gps tends to route me on one each new adventure! However, riding 2-up it can get a little difficult with the extra person. Thanks for the descriptions! We're still trying to figure out if we can get there Thursday night then...
