    2014ES or 2016A?

Another vote for the 14ES, just like mine! I prefer red over blue, 5 sp over 6sp, LED lights and lighter clutch lever pull would be nice, 13k miles is just broken in and not much more than 2.5k miles on an FJR. Three of the four items tip the scale to the 14ES and it's a bit cheaper so you can...

2008 FJR vs 2015 Triumph Trophy SE

Obviously I'm biased in my preference but after owning a 2008 and a 2014ES, I think you would be pleasantly surprised at the gen 3 FJR's "buttery shifts, lack of vibration, and decrease in heat output". Also I admit to liking the sporty side of sport touring!

2008 FJR vs 2015 Triumph Trophy SE

Get a gen 3 ES, add bar riders and BT headset and you have the best of both bikes!

    NERDS 5 - We're on a roll now!

I agree it's not a bad gig and I hope to be doing it in a couple years. I already have the class a motorhome and bike trailer!

North to Alaska 2019 - Once there were Twenty now there are SIX

This sounds perfect, John! However, I'm good with 400-500 miles per day unless there is something specific to gawk at. Regardless, this is sounding like a great ride!

Picking up my 06 fjr tomorrow....how do i ride it?

So, how was your first day on the fjr?

North to Alaska 2019 - Once there were Twenty now there are SIX

I have tentative plans to do this next summer with a local friend who rides a Goldwing. Pushing back to 2019 is possible. Like John, I don't tent camp any more so I'd need hotels each night and I'll be on the FJR.

An air horn is a must

@Karen, yes you lift under the headers. Oh, and welcome to this forum! It may take is a little while to respond due to life happening but you will find many answers in here.

An air horn is a must

What year is the fjr? Earlier generations had two horns and more recent years only have one. In either case, compact air horns can be installed in the stock mounting hole. You will need a relay, which hopefully came with the air horn. I installed a Chinese knockoff on my 2014ES three years ago...
