    Interesting starting behavior

I think I have a spare solenoid if you find that is the problem. Sure sounds like a solenoid.

    Relay arm bearing time.

I get a perverse sense of accomplishment when I write in my little book the details of whatever maintenance I did on my FJR or one of the 6 cars I maintain for myself and my family. So it was almost with embarrassment, that after almost a week of my FJR hanging in the garage, with me cursing and...

    Relay arm bearing time.

The bracket is bolted to the subframe with three bolts on each side and bolted through a steel L bracket. The JB Weld, which IS an insulator, not a conductor, was only put on AFTER the bolts and steel L brackets were installed, for reinforcement. Thanks for bringing this up, If it was only JB...

    Relay arm bearing time.

So I just used a couple of L brackets and bolted the thing back together, and then covered the whole mess, the places where it broke off, and the bolts that hold the piece to the L brackets with a thick paste of JB Weld. Here's the link to what it looks like now, I will sand the JBWeld down and...

    FNG--LTL (Long Time Lurker)

Welcome to the forum. I am always inspired by those who can and do, own any bike they want, and buy and like an FJR.  Your comparisons and ride impressions would be appreciated by me, though I realize that can be intimidating. LOL

    Cruise Control & Heat..

Go IOWA.  I went to the Orange Bowl years ago and IOWA was playing. I was rooting for the other team, but sitting in a large group of IOWA fans. What a great group of people. I have rooted for IOWA ever since {as long as they aren't playing Florida}.  Yes, ALL Gen. 2 FJR's have ABS. ABS was...

    Relay arm bearing time.

So now I have really messed up. I went to jack up my FJR using my black iron pipe stand, and ran the ratcheting straps under the seat bracket on top of the rear sub-frame, like Bryan did in the TWO video. After about 5 minutes, while I was removing the rear wheel, the bracket broke and the FJR...

    Relay arm bearing time.

Almost everyone who posts pictures of their garage/shop have clean organized work area's, I wonder if everyone but me has an organized shop, or am I the only one who will post of pic of my disastrous garage. LOL

    Relay arm bearing time.

I built a black pipe hanger thingy a long time ago,, So that's no problem. Just got through of 10 days of miserable cold flu, and need to spend a couple of days catching up, need to put a Strut on my grandson-in-law's Tacoma, and move my daughter to her new apartment, than it's back to pleasing...

    Relay arm bearing time.

I scored a really nice relay arm off an 09 with 16,000 miles for 28 dollars. Woohoo. Just got it today. {yeah I'm braggin, LOL}  Couple of questions. I heard what you guys said about the front underside of the arm being sandblasted, and It didn't seem quite right, but Dang, the front underside...

Prep for winter for my 07 FJR. 1. Put the WINGS out to protect my knees from the cold. 2. Put on the barn-door v-stream windshield {with X-creen touring added on}, 3. AND put the Car Tire back on!!

    Changing Times

Wow, I keep talking about my "Mythical" trip out west, but crap, all these places are just up the road from me. Thanks, for pointing this out to me. One comment, and it's not meant to be critical, but you keep saying you just "let it all hang out" and "go wherever" but you ride phenomenal roads...

Metallic Noise - Timing Chain or Transmission?

We appreciate you allowing us to follow this all the way to the end, and put up with our skepticism. Glad to know you are back on the road.

What did you do to your FJR today?

I am sure you know this, but when the battery is THAT dead, it is best to use a charger and charge it up, at least to 10.5 to 11 volts and preferably all the way to the high 12's before starting it. When you Jump Start it when it's that dead, the alternator/voltage regulator, sensing very...
