    A new post whore king?

Hmmmm.... not sure who you're looking at, but the hairy man with 12,967 active posts deserves praise and kudos for years of positive or insightful comments in addition to his witty humor. edited: I see his post count is 10,997 but the "active posts" in his profile is almost 13,000. What's up...

    We're all a crazy bunch

I love trolling through the posts on the forum. Every once in a while, a post comes up that I laugh hard at, and then giggle a little more hours later just thinking about the post. The most recent one for me was from Ignacio where I swear I was nearing a coffee nasal lavage from this post. In...

    Thinking of coming back....

This should be a strong consideration of yours if you do the maintenance yourself. The FJR is just so damn easy to work on and needs such little work that it'd take a lot to even get me to look seriously at other bikes.

    Time to give up riding?

Good, so you have a potential time limit on the recommended anticoagulant therapy. Now, there are inherent risks to riding the motorcycle. There are also inherent risks to taking the medication. You seem to have a good understanding of both of these risk profiles. What about the inherent risks...

    Time to give up riding?

Ask your cardiologist this question, "How long do you anticipate that I will need to take Plavix?" It's not uncommon to only need it for one year post-MI. Use this information to weigh in on your decision.

    Strange noise in the driveline

ROTFLMAO. A true Arkansas man. :D

    JB's Excellent (Near Death) Adventure

Most cardiac events can safely be attributed to the result of a sum of choices related to our lifestyle accumulated over decades of time as well as our genetic tendencies. Therapeutic lifestyle changes (TLC) and medication regimens are directed at prevention of another major cardiac event...

If an FJR falls in the garage...

Hey, neat trick. I never thought about mounting an office chair to a motorcycle lift. ;)

    Suspension Lube alert

Ahhh Silkolene.... Silkolene Pro RG2 and Honda's Promoly are the only two types of grease that usually make it to my FJR. Silkolene seems to have some pretty good water repellent properties. I use it regularly around my lower pivot points, wheel bearing seals, under my throttle tube, in the...

Beemer GS testing in the snow

Damn I could have so much fun with that setup!

    FFO Gathering

I'd love to sit and watch you consume a 1.5 liter bottle of bad Jack again, but alas, I will be in the frozen north between Christmas and New Years.

    Tell me about Newberg, OR.

I'm glad to hear this. When looking at jobs in the area, I found the housing market to be a bit better in McMinnville and it looks as though the drive between the two towns would be insignificant. I'm so pleased with everyone's feedback to this point. I'm looking at probably 3 more months...

    Songs

Any Pink Floyd album. The music makes me space off. I do like to listen to music though. It breaks the monotony of the droning wind noise. Sometimes I dance on the foot pegs to get my blood flowing and perk me up on long rides.

    Tell me about Newberg, OR.

I first thought the lack of trees in the Tri-Cities area was from the high desert terrain, but I caught wind of the Hanford site story.... wow. It explains a lot ;)

Odd question - is there a way to heat your topbox?

Wrap your headers in solid copper surrounded by some type of liquid heat sink (like what we can use to cool computer cases). Recirculate the fluid via a small amperage electronic fuel pump through a full fluid circuit. Find an in-line fluid thermostat which closes off when you hit the desired...

    Tell me about Newberg, OR.

Thank you for the surrounding community hints. I don't mind a 20-30 minute drive to work if it's on open roads, without stop and go traffic. Too many years in Las Vegas and Dallas/Ft. Worth have made me truly hate congested, stuffy, frustratingly homicidal urban traffic.

    Tell me about Newberg, OR.

I continue to look on through OR and WA, finding a lot of opportunity in Yakima, WA. The wikipediadescription of Yakima makes it sound pretty ominous though..... "The per capita income for the city was $15,920. About 17.1% of families and 22.4% of the population were below the poverty line...

    Tell me about Newberg, OR.

Thank you on the well wishes. Yes, my new degree builds on the old. I've done some back country hiking in Mt. Hood National Forest, but was lucky to have relatively moderate weather and spectacular scenery to distract me from anything negative. With that experience, I was able to cage it on...

    Tell me about Newberg, OR.

I've also considered the Bend area, but read mixed emotions from either current or former residents. Weather seems to be brought up quite a bit if you live west of the cascades, but yet most everyone who lives in OR or WA lives on the coastal side of the mountains. Hrmm.... I've never lived in...
