Border crossing into Canada from USA

I thought of one additional question. Would it be better to head east from Sault Ste. Marie towards Montreal or west from Montreal area to Sault Ste. Marie?

Border crossing into Canada from USA

I'm working out a tentative trip in August where I plan on heading from TX northeast and on into Canada just south of Montreal mid-week. I'll then back into the USA at Sault Ste Marie the next day. I'd like to avoid border crossing delays and congestion. Which US/Canada border crossing will...

    Tail of the Dragon accommodations

I stayed there last year. They were full except for the small apartment above the owner's garage. It was quiet, spacious (full kitchen, livingroom, and dining area), and the customer service was outstanding.

Home safe thread - SFO 2012

Home safe and sound. I've even had time to change engine and rear drive oil. I had a great time romping through some great roads. Time for tire shopping :)

    SFO '12 Routes

I just created a few routes that take advantage of most all of what you suggested and a little more. One route of 512 miles to take it all in on a single day, and then an east loop and west loop (217 and 250miles respectively) that would make for two adventuresome shorter rides. You can email...

    Suspension Adjustments

The challenge we face is that we all set suspension for our personal size/riding style/ suspension setup. To get mine set up for me, I rode the same 1 mile stretch of medium-bumpy road back and forth many, many times. I started with all damping turned all the way out to nothing on the front...

    www.oesaccessories.com, One-Eleven Sportbike

I needed a pair of sliders to replace old ones, but wanted a different build than what they offered. I called them up and asked if they could make new sliders the same dimension as my old ones except extend it out farther (I believe I added 1/2 inch). From the time I sent them my old ones...

Coppell TX Police motorcycle Skills Competition

I've met a couple of these guys... once on Sandy Lake and once on Bethel Rd. Both times on my FJR. Both times they were quite effective at popping out of nowhere and suddenly screaming up from my blind spot. Both times I was cautioned heavily without a citation. Once I was under 10 over and...

Ride Report Seattle to Copper Canyon Mexico

I greatly enjoyed your trip report. Any chance you'd consider changing your background to make the text easier to read?

    Brightest single LED I've seen

Looks like some crazy people out there have made home brew flashlights with this LED. Clicky

    Brightest single LED I've seen

Wow. Actually priced it out and it's cheaper than I expected at $135 here Any engineers out there willing to play with a new accessory light design?

    Brightest single LED I've seen

Luminus data sheet Damn... LED lighting sure has come a long ways. I wonder what type of heat sink would need to be mounted to this bad boy to put it to use?

    Cheap knock-offs vendors sourced

I was browsing my volvo forum site for repair guides when I came across two vendors to pick up software to allow my PC to run diagnostics and change settings on my volvo car. In another member's post, the following two sources were named as a means of bypassing the ebay middle-men on cheap...

    helmet/glasses

Shoei Qwest works great. My old Shoei X-eleven used to leave me with sore ears because it smashed my ears against the round rod-type contour of my eyeglasses. The Qwest completely eliminated this for me. I wear eyeglasses at all times while riding (eyeglass user since 3rd grade)

    OFFICIAL SFO 2012 RALLY thread

I was going to pitch a tent, but decided to book a room instead. I'll talk twistedcricket into rooming with me. One room, 2 queen beds, 3 nights.

    SFO Twisty Butt Grand Prize!

I do have to say, having done one TBA ride, it is a blast and the roads were pretty damn nice. It was enough fun that I'd like to do it again... rain or shine (or intermittent scattered rain with idyllic cool temperatures like what I did before). Mark me as one highly interested in a Friday...

What did you do to your FJR today?

I rode the dirty ***** to work for a meeting, letting her sit out in 40 degree rain, then decompressed after the meeting by taking a ride in the mentioned 40 degree rain as I pondered a few things like how well my riding gear works to keep me warm and dry, how well the PR3's perform on wet cold...

How's this look for DIY tire changing?

Too funny. I needed a good laugh like this. I've been spooning tires on with towels/padding on the floor of my garage. It gets the job done, but can be a PITA. These frugal ideas are great and will work well in my garage. Looks like I have a weekend fabrication project to do :)
