Looking for best route from Cape Mendocino to Reno, NV

If'n it were me, I'd go up to Fortuna, across 36 all the way to Lake Almanor, then 89/70 south to Truckee. 299 has more traffic, cops, 'n motorhomes. 20's nice from Lake County east, butt go'in through Lake County can suck; lotsa slow little towns to go through. Haven't bean on 395 from...

dct. vs AE Is it worth the new technolgy.

Oh thanks fer rubbing it in for us LUZERS in the states that don't get the genIII AEs. I can hold the throttle WFO 'n shift up. If only momma Yama marketed AEs as speed shifters instead of a 660 lb n00b friendly scooters they'd still b sell'in 'em here!

    Enlarged Fifth Gear ?

^THIS^ I never run below 3,500, 'n my bike's happiest 'round 4K 'n above. Maybe ya just need to tune the thing up so it's smooth above 2500? 'N if'n ya do need to gear up ^THIS^ is the cheapest, easiest way. (Plus yer bike'll steer better too.)

Actually, they can work if'n ya rotate 'em so they're like 45 degrees to the wheel. Did that 'til it was time to replace front tire. :toothless
