has any one had time to shove these routes into GPX? I've about had it with basecamp...it's adding little side trips between waypoints that I never selected... EDIT:: if not, that's fine. I know which routes I'd like to take and I'll find a group going on those routes... I hope :)

I'm not worried about depreciation :) I bought my 07 new and if I trade it in or sell it, I'm not going to worry too much about what I get. If I can get to 100k miles, I'll have great memories of everyone. (well, maybe not the ones commuting).

Thank you for this. I've been seriously contemplating a 2016 until I read that line. Instead, maybe I"ll make "payments" to a savings account and wait until I have at least half saved up. By then my 07 should have 100k on it (67k now, before NAFO). Great thread to read. Glad you're ok after...

Yeah...I would hate to be in your seat across IN, IL, IA, NE...or if you opt for the "southern route" thru MO and KS... no relief there either.

On my trip to and from CA, I wore the KLIM; with the vents open at speed I was very comfortable. Not great, but not overheating. I also have one of those Mission EnduraCool things I soak and put around my neck inside the collar of the jacket. And drink lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of water.

Can confirm. I have this model and lifetime maps. Download with Garmin express, put maps on the device with MapInstall. Just point it at the SD card.

I can work anywhere I have a reliable internet connection. Which is a blessing and a curse. I was staying at my manager's place so A) there were no hotel bills and B) there was no rush to return. Leaving the Bay Area and returning to the swamp-***-heat-and-humidity of nebrasuck was painful...

He did make a great breakfast Jul 2, and the offer of anything I needed, tools, a place to stay, a car to drive, and "are you sure you're not hungry?". Excellent hospitality! I was actually staying in the Bay Area for the week so my bike lived at Hycle's for the week.
