    Clutch Master Cylinder

Providing the clutch feels good & is working well, I wouldn't worry about anything else Rich. If you're concerned, bleed it again in a couple weeks. Which bike you riding to Baker City? Good luck! ~G

    Scraping Highway Pegs

Those pegs will scrape in tight turns. Beware. I had a set, removed them after one of the PNW crew suffered a broken case from a zero speed parking lot mishap. Ruined a trip and the bike earned a UHaul ride home. Not something I want to risk many miles from home. ~G

Both headlights, at the same time?!

I'll have to store yours away! ~G

Both headlights, at the same time?!

With Steve^^^^ my thoughts too. If something is truly kaput, I think this will be first report of a LED headlight problem. ~G

Oh Canada, BC Mid Aug 2023

Nice time of year, should be a great trip! WA ferries are as messed up as sapest indicates BC ferries are. Was going to suggest Anacortes ferry to get to the Island but honestly it's six-of-one depending on the day. If you get into a bind, the PNW gang has tire changing / balancing equipment...

    RPM range

You don't 'need' much more than 4-5k rpm to get around, but you're most definitely not hurting the engine. In 'ole dirt bike terms, you're just getting it on the pipe! Run it up there and see what she does...for a fat sport tourer the FJR does pretty well. Enjoy! ~G

    Self Intro

Welcome from metro Seattle! From pic, looks like your '06 is an AE model? SH 46 is a common AE error. Check out the search feature (or Google) and you'll find many threads discussing this. ~G

    Survivor '03

As I mentioned in your intro thread, great color! Your '03 would have been a '04 in the states...integrated turn signals give it away. Looks like a very nice example of a GEN I FJR. ~G

Almost 20 years of wonderful FJR'ing!

Congrats on the new (lighter-weight) scoot Dave! Agreed it's the FJR that brought us together, but the years-long relationships that keep us going. Enjoy the new bike! ~G

    buying high mileage FJR

An '08 with 60k still has many (s)miles left in it. As you eluded to, maintenance is everything so if the the machine has been taken care of I wouldn't worry. If you can stretch the budget a bit, there's a nice looking '12 in the classifieds. Great buy for someone. Happy hunting! ~G

what would you have to do to put cruise control on 2012 from a newer bike

MCCruise is your (expensive) best option. If you've got the itch to mix up the stable, go for a '13 or newer! ~ G

    Gen3 OR Gen4

Agreed the '15 is priced too high. Only you can determine what it's actually "worth". ~G

    Gen3 OR Gen4

Pick the bike that speaks to you. With such low miles on both, does one look better maintained than the other? '16 does offer a few improvements, slipper clutch, LED headlights and 6-spd but otherwise they're the similar machines. From your description the '16 sounds like a better buy. For...
