rhun, I agree, especially since my drop I am very careful with the kickstand I feel it could definitely be improved. I feel it needs to go foreward a little more and lock more securely in place. Beefier possibly also. My stratoliner kickstand goes way foreward and there is no doubt it is...

warprints, somehow I ended up with 2 blue motorcycles and a blue car, used to think my favorite color was green. I always did like the 2012 blue fjr also. Just like some were drooling over the 14 red but I just could not do the red one. The black looks sharp also.

Since my drop I have put canyon cage tipover bars on the back and frame sliders on the front. Later this summer I would like to add the canyon cage front bars.

dravnx, As for bodywork I only needed the center cowl that surrounds the headlights and inner plastic piece that surrounds the gauges (It was cracked also).

SDave, I am glad the trex cages saved you a lot of grief. I bought frame sliders that are on the front and canyon cage rear bag protectors. Still waiting on parts to get it back together.

I already bought the Yamaha touring screen, the stock seat does leave a lot to be desired.

Insurance quote from the local Yamaha shop is 2 grand, includes 6.25hrs shop time. Now waiting for insurance to pay or not. I did buy a foot pad for the kickstand a metal one you bolt on, it was only 16 bucks on amazon so if it does not work out it is no big deal. Motovation frame sliders...

Gnirtsnod, I think the damage is worse because my other motorcycle helped to slow the fjrs' fall.

Uncle Hud, I think that is a good idea, don't move or try and park the bike until you visualize the kickstand in place, and get canyon cages or the like.

The metal crosspiece that holds the mirror on is broken. I took the bike to the Yamaha shop this am, we will see how long and how much $ this is going to take. I think soon after getting it back canyon cages or the like will be added.

Just not being careful. Never have dropped my stratoliner. Maybe because that bike is over 800lbs and I am aware of it. Will certainly be careful in the future. Thank you escapefjrtist for the pic assist.

I do not know yet if I am going to do it or take the insurance hit. I am sure the shop will say its going to be 1000 or more. I could take the check and do it myself then order canyon cages. I have a feeling this might turn into a long thread. Good to know I will have lots of people here to help...
