FJRForum Official 2019 Iron Butt Rally Tracking/Analysis Thread

IBA has acknowledged an issue with the embedded mp3 files and hopes to remedy it later tonight. I've met Wolfe Bonham a few times and knowing him REALLY look forward to hearing his audio clip.

The summary listed above is a great basic idea for how it works. Other variables come into play such as a rider's personal comfort level with speed limits. Let's face it some of us ride +5 where another might be +10 and the next person willing to risk a steady cruise speed that's higher yet...

Everyone picked has some LD riding or rallying credentials. No one gets into the IBR as a rally virgin.

The HD Sportster is my friend Chris Comly and this will be his 3rd IBR on that bike. It's got around 260k miles on it.

https://advrider.com/f/threads/list-of-gps-incompatible-with-2019-04-06-roll-over-bug.1377215/ Thread from ADV rider discussing the "rollover bug" and affected GPS units. I'm not sure if you'd need to log in over there to read it or not. Gist of it is that certain GPS units were affected...

    Sturgis 2019 info please

I attended the Sturgis rally once back in 2001 and it's "interesting" at least. Personally I would never go again during that week. Overcrowded, too much traffic, and while entertaining enough with tons of activities and stuff to see your ability to easily get around town and to visit the area...

    F*** Garmin

This also happened to me Memorial Day Weekend on my Garmin Zumo 660 and I didn't understand what had taken place so I just forced it back into daytime mode. There was a thread on ADV rider forum and Garmin does now have an update for the firmware on their website. I installed the update and now...

FJRForum Official 2019 Iron Butt Rally Tracking/Analysis Thread

I took a phone call Saturday afternoon about the possibility of trailering Dan's other Tenere from his home near Gettysburg, PA to Greenville. Sadly while I could have helped out with possibly being a part of the solution the call came too late in the day for the logistics to work and have me...

2006 Gen 2 problem after spark plugs change

Enjoy your trip! I'm leaving out in about 2 hours for the New England states myself. Tour of Honor and National Parks tour stops for me.

2006 Gen 2 problem after spark plugs change

"Stupidity does not have nationality !! Hahahahaha ." Truer words were never spoken! Don't feel bad as every single person on here has screwed up something on their bikes by now due to lack of knowledge. Glad you got it figured out.

    SEOR home safe thread

Posted reply in the other sandbox, missed this thread here. Dianne and I made it home 5:30 Sunday afternoon. Whole day was in the rain and the last 90 miles or so were just brutal. Heavy downpours at times with limited visibility and way too much truck traffic on the PA turnpike. Far too many...

    What are these sensors?

I just disconnected the PAIR plumbing on my Gen 2 last night and that's what the connector on mine looks like except on mine it's on the other side of the bike close to that air box nipple.

    WynPro Air Induction Cover Plates

No problem Dave. I've seen some other ones on eBay and Amazon but would rather purchase from you. For time being I just capped everything off with block off hoses and clamps so I could remove the majority of the PAIR crap.

    (In)Tech Day 2019

Not going to be there myself but to help those doing valve checks, the coolant crossover pipe O-rings are a 2-116 N70 Buna available anywhere that sells hydraulic hoses or fitting and only cost about .10 or less each. I work for a hydraulic cylinder shop and we go through them by the hundreds.

Dave, have you gotten around to making any more of these yet?

Coast to coast in 48 1/2 hours

Gary, it was great to get some time to really meet up and talk at EOM last year in Maggie Valley. Glad to see you're doing well and hope this continues for you. I remember this thread from way back in the day. Great read about a great ride. Maybe someday I'll try it. For now I'm content with...
