    ET Highway

During my tour in September I will be going from Death Valley to Las Vegas. The route would be something like this. Furnace Creek-Badwater-Death Valley Junction-Beatty-Tonopah-Warm Springs-ET Highway (Little Ale'in)-Ash Springs-Las Vegas It looks like fuel is available in Tonopah but I am...

    orestes' American Adventure

Over the past few years I have found that one of the best things about riding a motorcycle is that there is always the possibility of a new friend just around the corner, and at least most Americans speak English  As you know my grasp of foreign languages is very limited so, unlike in...

    orestes' American Adventure

It's been a long time planning but in 2 weeks, Thursday I'll be leaving the UK to start my American vacation. I had originally planned to ship my own bike over to Vancouver but a friend advised me to try FlyRideUSA as they had FJR's available for rent. After some discussion I decided to join...

Meet Orestes in Sedona on Wednesday, September 17

I regret to say that due to problems caused by my tour operator, the least of which is a change in itinerary, I will not be able to make it down to Sedona on Sept 17. I will still be staying (probably, nothing is certain at this point) at the Grand Canyon on the 16th but will then have to head...

Meet Orestes in Sedona on Wednesday, September 17

I'll also be at the IBA meet in Boise in case Sedona's to close to home. Looking forward to September, not long now. Don, I'll give you a call once I'm on the road so we can set place and time, I can't cope with an -8 hour time zone.

    Maupin Romp: PNWFOG Fall Get-Together

I start my vacation in Joseph on Sept 05 and make my way to Bend on the 7th. I have put together 3 routes to choose from (there are probably many more) so its nice to hear that the roads are so good. I think my sheer unadulterated fun will last about 3 weeks and then I'll have to start saving to...

    Ride your FJR to Work!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a chauffeur it's difficult to ride the FJR at work although it would solve a lot of the congestion problems in London. Instead I've taken the afternoon off and am about to go for a ride to the south coast.

    Grossglockner!

Glad you got a chance to enjoy the scenery. When I last rode it in July 2006 I had to put up with fog. Took 3 hours to cross and hardly saw the bends, let alone the drop offs.

Safe Phoenix FJR Riding Rules for FJR Forum Visitors.

Seen and chiming in. I'm staying at the Grand Canyon on the 16th and 17th of September. As I'm not fit enough to walk down and back in a day I'll save that for a future visit. So on Wednesday 17th I'm heading down to Sedona to meet up with Don and anyone else who would like to make the trip...

    A Weekend at Bucks Lake

Thanks for the report and pictures. I had been planning to add that loop (Quincy, Buck's lake, Oroville, Old Forbestown. Challenge before joining the 49) onto my route from Chester to S Lake Tahoe in September (I read about it in Mr Salvadori's excellent book) instead of heading straight down...

for a great week in the Pyrenees. The weather could have been better but the excellent roads and company made up for the occasional heavy shower. Should the trip be repeated next year here are a couple of short videos to get you in the mood Pyrenees Part 1 and Pyrenees Part 2

    Tour of the Pyrenees 2008

I'm going to be optimistic and say that 10 day forecasts mean very little and it will be bright and dry every day. Now where's my rain gear.
