    Name That Place Game

As requested... This road is very much about the twisties plus some nice scenery. It can be used as a connector road between two very popular motorcycle roads which is how I stumbled upon it. Since then, I have learned that many know and love this road due it's great curves without the traffic...

1911, you got it! It is 104 just outside Tucumcari, NM headed to Las Vegas, NM.  Tucumcari is on route 66, so Whoops, you were getting there. You are up, Duane!

    Name That Place Game

Sorry, this was too hard for just a visual clue. I’m looking for the highway number of the road in this photo which is only a few miles NW of an iconic town on the most iconic road in America though it’s mostly been turned into an interstate. We almost stayed the night in a well known motel...

    Name That Place Game

My favorite roads and pictures to go with them are about the twisties. However this one spoke to me and is still one of my favorites even though it a "little" less twisty than some others. This may be a tough one. I'll give hints later if no one gets it...

    Name That Place Game

If you say something should go quick on this thread it destines it to never get a response it seems. :) It's the statue of Rosie O'Donnell and her children in Santa Cruz, CA. Or maybe the Sea Lion Caves in Florence, Oregon.

    Name That Place Game

I thought it looked familiar but after some internet searching I determined I had not been that far north by 170 miles. I will give others a few days to guess since I had to google it.

Ha! You are correct! I had to look that up because I was just looking for Bangor, but you were even more specific. On our trip to The Cabot Trail we looked for Stephen King landmarks before we stayed two nights in Bar Harbor. Bangor isn’t much to see, but we took nerdy pics of his inspirations...

    October non-Washington ride options?

I am leaning now toward not doing a Pacific Northwest trip in Oct. It is still an option, but it's a little colder with more chance of snow in the high passes than I might want to deal with. We have Icefields Parkway / Banff on our bucket list so it makes more sense to do some Washington with...

    Mid-October weather in Washington

I'm having second thoughts after looking up average highs in most of our spots. They seem to be in the low 40s in many towns and it always is much colder in high areas. We have found we are good starting at around 39 if it warms up a lot. Also we have found we are good going through a pass that...

    Mid-October weather in Washington

I suppose the Icefields Parkway and Banff is out in mid-Oct, though? We can handle and have good memories from surprise snow in Red Lodge and brief sleet in Colorado's Rocky Mtn National Park. But I don't want to get snowed in somewhere or get caught in a real ice-storm.

I'll post up again... Here's an easy one, maybe? This was used for a good scene in a book:

I have not been here, but this nice pic with a good clue is just sitting so I'll do some guessing to get closer... Is this on hwy 5 in BC?

    Mid-October weather in Washington

You guys helped me do some planning for a trip to Banff and Washington this summer that never happened because of work. Canada would have been out too because of COVID (Ross correctly warned me last winter) but I still tried to make Washington work to no avail. I have one slight possibility now...

SOLD! Good Luck new rider! 2007A FJR Kane, PA For Sale

Sorry to hear this Marty. I was just getting on the forum today to play around with squeezing in a long trip with the wife this year. It's gotten so hard to plan a trip with the changes at work and we've not been able to for over a year. Your post reminds me we need to take advantage of the...

    Name That Place Game

Looks a little like Skalkaho near my mother-in-law's home town of Philipsburg.  I just was writing that it might be it because it is near Hamilton but couldn't think of the snake and then I just realized the snake is Anaconda. That's got to be it. I love Philipsburg and that area. We need to go...

    Side car for FJR

Sorry for being a smart-aleck in the first response. After I posted it I worried your wife might be handicapped or something, making the sidecar the only option. If not, I'd do some serious evaluation and experimentation to make sure a sidecar would be less scary to her. If she's ridden in a...
