    Name That Place Game

Great pic! Not near this side of the country, I'm sure. I'm thinking Northwest and that I've not been there.

Yes! Looks like it's pronounced nah duh tunnel but really it's nay-duh tunnel. Lots of good roads in this area and the nada tunnel road through the forest is a nice ride. The tunnel seems much smaller than 13 feet because of the rough rock walls. You are up 1911!

I see why you would think that :)  but no. Also, I noticed I originally said “state forest” but I meant National Forest.  Not that that is any help but I edited it.  I’m telling you, somebody’s going to realize it’s not a tunnel.

I don't have many more pictures of this place that is often called "not a tunnel" but it is 900 feet long, 12 feet high and 13 feet wide. It's inside a national forest named after what TV described as the rippin'est, roarin'est, fightin'est man the frontier ever knew. Lots of bikers ride through...

Here is a view from each side: That windshield is my OEM windshield so I went here in the first 6 months of owning the FJR. That is 2012 which was before we started venturing anywhere long distance on the bike. If you don't know the correct pronunciation of this place you will think it is...

    Name That Place Game

I'd encourage you to head our way again, but I've been out west and there's way too much to see there. I notice that all the mountains and gorges add "east of the Mississippi" in their bragging. Nowhere have I seen any of the western scenery add "west of the Mississippi". :)

    Name That Place Game

Nope. It’s east of Mississippi as Bugnatr guessed. The one lane section reminds me of the black hills. This is the only tunnel in the area and is the main attraction but there is other scenery.

    Name That Place Game

People from Spain never come here because they think there is nothing here.

Bugnatr, those pictures of Feather River Canyon are nice! I made a last minute choice in my California trip to do Lassen instead of Feather River. I wish I could have done both. With my brother now in the SF area, it is possible I get to ride there again, but not likely. Since it's been a...

Looking for advice on beginner sport bike

Thanks for the feedback. It's all advice I agree with totally. I'm going to look for the Pants thread.

Looking for advice on beginner sport bike

An 18 year old friend of mine saw my MT10 this last weekend and we started talking about bikes. He has never ridden but is getting ready to take the MSF course and get a beginner sport bike. I'd personally like to convince him to get something less sporty, but he has been looking at MTs and...

Getting the urge for a change

For the most part I've settled down with the MT10. I still really like it. For 90% of what I do it is less functional than the FJR because of the FJR's great windshield, storage and larger gas tank. But I've also answered my question above differently than I thought I would. The real answer...

Great pic! Per rules nobody is pressured to post when guessing correctly. Bugs, you are up again if you want.

I had to look back through my Spotwalla tracks, but I have not been on 276 through this park. Looks like a good road and a good view. I spent a week on a business/FJR trip in Easley just 25 miles south of there.  I wish I had headed back on 276 instead of up Hwy 25.

    Name That Place Game

This is extremely familiar. I'm thinking it looks like Arkansas, but I can't place the spot yet. Is it in the Arkansas Ozarks?

    Name That Place Game

Yes, that was the actual road. I stood on that side and watched the Harleys scrape as they went up and down. Maybe this puts the pieces together a little: All these pics are from when we were there in April 2013. I'll bet it would've been pretty when we drove right by it on 221 in October...

    Name That Place Game

By the way, Grandfather Mountain has a great view and the mile high swinging bridge is interesting. It’s annoying that they charge $20 or more and now during Covid you have to reserve a time in advance to go up. If I remember right, we had to sign a waiver to take the bike up that curvy road...

Correct!! Great job! You got one to post, or are you passing this time?

Not Montana. Not even west of Mississippi River. My wife says you guys know it and are just messing with me.  Did you see the bridge in that last one?

Sorry, Pants. Not Colorado either. Ok, bringing out the big guns now. This one and one more then I start giving big hints. I'm kind of sorry this threw everybody. Kinda, but not really :)
