Sorry for that, but the scratches are inevitable. Even if you only keep your bike in garage and do not dare to ride at all, I bet your wife and kids willl manage to scratch it big time with lawnmover and other appliances. Cheer up!
I experienced the same effect when riding on the cobblestone streets in old town on my V-strom in the 1st gear. It was my hand which could not stay fixed on the throttle due to the heavy movement of the handlebar.
Romania is a beautiful, cheap and secure country, I 've been riding there couple of years ago. Lots of super beautiful ladies, though. Easy to get lost for an extra month I would not worry too much.
I did a testride on Honda Crosstourer DCT last year. It is really easy to ride, no worries about shifting. Very smooth and comfy. But i did not like the somewhat rattling sound of it in low speeds/revs, got a feeling as if something is loose inside there. Honda tech, however, assured me that...
I had my waterpump fixed by Yamaha dealer this summer for exactly the same reason as OP states -coolant leaking from the weep hole. Although I was not there when they did it, I am sure they did not use any heat or freeze. We discussed the process when I picked the bike up. When I look at the...
I've been using this one for the last year or so. Had few opportunities to use it at my friends' cars and also once on my Vstrom when its battery was discharged. Very satisfied with it. Just yesterday helped out one Nissan Terrano diesel at a parking house. Always take it with me on longer...
Beer was great, we did have few locally brewed pints on the townhall square in Odense. The only problem- it is damn expensive there. But then it also tasted very valuable...
I had Zümo 660 and SMH 10 before and more often than not had a problem with the mono sound coming into Sena from Zümo. After some trying I learned that i had to have Zumo on first and then turn on Sena and if lucky, I got the stereo connection. I also had another problem with 660, i.e. it was a...
Ok, so now, while back home, as promised, I post few pics of the culprit of the waterpump failure.
Here it is in 2 pieces. Nothing visibly wrong with it except some strange corrosion on the rubber housing in the left. I guess this is the part that sits on the shaft.
I left the bike to the...
Many thanks, FredW. Thats the best I could do. Yes, I have been riding the whole day today at around 30 C and in twisties on a 3 rd gear and temp has been around middle or +2 dots, so everything seems all righty.
Well that explains a lot. When I parked the bike the evening I got it back from Yamaha the level in the reservoir was at the higher mark. Next morning it was below the lower one. No signs of leak. So the cool-down-vacuum did its job and filled the system properly.

By the way, the tech said that when he started the engine the coolant started to move immediately in the radiator hole, so he suspected the thermostat was stuck half open. So that is the next thing to check when back home. I wonder if that is a simple job to replace it by myself?
Ok, it looks like the problem got solved. They replaced the seal sets and pump stopped leaking. I rode some 400 km after that on highway with some 150 km/h and the temp kept well in the middle of the meter.
Will post some pics of the original seal when I am back home, it looked somewhat rusty...
