    Which bike would you pick/keep?

Nice deal for an 03! Replace the CCT as soon as you can, I doubt it's the new version (Google is your friend here). Read the tire date codes, they are likely a little too old for comfort. Forum member Garauld can handle your painting needs and probably has the 03 silver sitting around...

I'm interested in the seat. Can you PM me the info about it?

    Gen 1 Missing and Stumbling

Please do check the cam/crank timing. Having things off a tooth or two will still allow the engine to run, but with lumpy power and sometimes an unusual idle. As has been suggested previously, it's not unreasonable to check for spark just to be sure that isn't the issue. You might also want...

    Windshield bolts: scary ride yesterday

I'm surprised you didn't design and manufacture new fasteners?

    Who for Suspension?

It's not particularly difficult to install the Race Tech valves, and they also offer spring upgrades. The only slightly sketchy part of the Race Tech install is boring out one part in each fork to a certain depth. This required a clean drill bit and some appropriately placed blue tape to get...

Valve check... Should I leave well enough alone or dig in

Don't skip the valve check. I've checked valves on four different FJRs now, and they have all required adjustments. One of these bikes had been "checked" by a dealership a few weeks earlier.

    Retiring and Moving to Spokane

Congrats Jim! It's great to see that everything worked out so well, and we look forward to visiting (bothering) you on our regular trips out to Hayden Lake, ID. We have certainly discussed moving once the wife gets her PhD, it's getting a little crowded out here. If you need any help getting...

This little guy wasn't quite ready to let me go! (Oddly enough, I found out he was coming at the RR last year)

    2006 FJR fork springs

The Race Tech springs are an easy choice, just don't forget to add the installation kit for them and be prepared to cut down the preload spacer thingy by the difference in spring lengths (uncompressed).

Seattle, WA Good to Go Pass - free for bikes

You don't actually need to call. When I get a bill, I get on the interwebs and go to the page to pay the bill, then click the "dispute" box for the ticket and write a note that I have the GTG pass.

I'm in. The wife is dragging me to some musical on the 15th, so this shouldn't be a hard sell.

    Servicing LED lights

I can say that I have 20-year-old LED's still operating perfectly. I have some LED's in a piece of electronics I built that have been running 24/7/365 for the last six years with no break and in a chassis that runs at 35C. I'm not much of an electronics designer compared to the guys at Yamaha...
