    Gold Wing update....any news?

That link does not work. Here's the one you want. https://gl1800riders.com/forums/4-general-mc-message-board/380937-test-rider-impressions-2018-gold-wing.html

    2018 FJR Details Released

I'm reserving judgement until I see it in person. I thought the '14 Red looked horrid from the release until I saw it in person. Not saying this will be awful, but I typically don't care for matte finishes. I love blue and I'll get blue again. But since I'm not in the market for a new bike...

    CrossHelmet

Anybody else notice the gesture pad is on the right side in the video? Wondering if there's a gesture pad on both sides, poor design, or they don't want you doing anything when your hand is on the throttle. In reality nobody has any idea how this will perform because nothing is really out...

    Wireless phone charging...on a bike?

Here's the solution me and a buddy of mine came up with. These are pictures on his Gen 3, but I have the same setup on my 06. This is the charger. https://www.tylt.com/capio-car-mount Separated the charger and the suction cup mount (just a 17 mm ball & socket) and put a stem mount 17mm...

Black Hills - Sturgis without Sturgis

Great riding out there and great riding to get there. I wish I could make more trips out west.

Black Hills - Sturgis without Sturgis

Vacation time both personal and work related are the big reasons for the trailer. I don't have a ton of vacation time through work. The personal part is my wife works 3rd shift. That means when I'm away overnight, I need to have somebody to watch the 4 year old overnight. The trailer gives us...

Black Hills - Sturgis without Sturgis

Sorry John. I thought you and Festar were gone on your own adventure while we were there. Honestly I didn't know you were in Spearfish until I saw the thread on your trip with Festar. It's hard to remember who lives where sometimes. You would have been bored with us anyway. We ride too slow by...

Black Hills - Sturgis without Sturgis

Time for another long weekend ride. Four of us trailered from Michigan, one trailered from Kentucky to ride in western South Dakota. Basically Sturgis, without Sturgis or the million bikes. We arrived at the hotel around midnight and we were on the road a little after 9 AM, since we had to...

    Digital Speedos

Only one way to find out! :) But I'm guessing you can't just swap it out. The Gen 3 clusters had a menu system built in with different controls. But with the wiring diagrams, I bet you could come up with something if you're so inclined. It'd be easier to buy the Gen 3 cluster with the rest...

    Utah/Arizona Trip Plan Help Please.....

I recommend a stop in Page, AZ. Take a tour of Antelope Canyon and also check out Horseshoe Bend. The Glen Canyon Dam is a nice tour. Sedona is a great place to see. Go to the scenic overlook by the airport. I'd make your way to Jerome. Visit the Haunted Hamburger...

Custom cell mount with wireless charging

This is what we did to mine and a buddy's bike. Stem mount with 17mm ball fits perfectly into a Tylt charger. Works great and cradles the phone nice.

    I've got wood

The head was about 6 hours and the body was nearly 14 hours. Print time really depends on the amount of infill and the layer height. This was printed at 0.2mm layer height but I can go down to 0.05mm. It would just take 4x longer. I figured the lower detail was actually desirable for the wood look.

    I've got wood

Who would have thought you could 3D print wood? Had a little arts & craft project with my son. Sanded it, stained it, and added a little paint. Stuff smells like sawdust while it is printing. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Seemed like the perfect test of my new wood filament. I am Groot.

A new purpose for the Gen 2 OEM heated grip cutout - Music Control

They aren't as expensive as you'd think. A friend of mine just bought one for <$200. Cheaper ones require more effort to get dialed in, but he was printing pretty good quality in no time.

A new purpose for the Gen 2 OEM heated grip cutout - Music Control

My existing bluetooth setup was not very elegant. It worked fine, but it wasn't going to be much longer. The buttons were wired to a Bluetooth adapter in the fairing. It worked for about 3 years, but not for much longer. A new solution was needed. Thanks to my new buddy Marty and my 3D...

Motorcycles Ride Free on this Great Lakes Ferry

Even with the free motorcycle fare, the ferry is still incredibly expensive for supposed time savings. Unless your schedule mandates you go through Chicago at rush hour, you can get to Milwaukee from Muskegon in 4.5 hours. The ferry is a 2.5 hour ride plus an extra hour by the time you board...
