    Searles Bucket List Tour 2015 - Montana/Idaho

ARG! I know. It was hard enough planning the trip in the first place with only a week of time out there. I need to get better at holding onto a job so I can earn extra weeks of vacation. I think a Sturgis (non-rally time), Deadwood, Beartoothpass, etc trip might be the next one in the...

Michigan Fall Colors and a Beached FJR…

Wife I spent that Friday evening cleaning and rolling out the red carpet for Wayne & Julie's arrival. Well, at least the house got clean. Truth be told, I probably would have chickened out riding with you on Saturday. It rained and it rained hard. Forest rats have me nervous this time of...

    Any rumor on the 2016...?

    Here you go wheaton!

I tried an experiment last night

You have to tell me how this goes. I could only export the model to Sketchfab in full quality, but because it isn't the Pro version, it can't be set to downloadable. I am anxious to see your results if you do your scan. Let me know how it goes.

I tried an experiment last night

Yeah, the next attempt I will tape the headlights up. It was late and I was too tired to try again. Next attempt will also have somebody helping me move the laptop and cords around. Really surprised I didn't fall on my face. If I could export the model as is, I'd just fix the headlights in...

I tried an experiment last night

My 2006 FJR Model I thought it turned out pretty well. The overall goal is to print one and eventually paint it. The program is Skanect and I used a Kinect for the XBox 360. The scanner gets goofed up with the clear windshield, which is why it is covered in foil. Only issue is that the free...

    Searles Bucket List Tour 2015 - Montana/Idaho

Friday morning, back to riding. Keith and Tyler decide to make a straight shot back to home. To do the remaining amount of the trip plus the drive home would have been 700 miles and they had to be back home that night or bright and early the next morning. From Boise, it was only 500 miles and...

    Searles Bucket List Tour 2015 - Montana/Idaho

For our family, 2015 has been a rough year. It put a lot of things in perspective and made a lot of us realize how little time we actually have. This is a trip weve talked about for years and we were done waiting. If not now, when? So the planning began around Christmas time and it evolved into...

    Tech Day XI: 10/10/2015

Wish I could have made it. Timing was just bad. Hopefully in the spring.

    Any rumor on the 2016...?

Color alone isn't going to make me buy one. Then again, I can't think of anything feature-wise I would want that the Gen 3 doesn't have. I'll go with practicality. Removeable side case lids. My money's on blue as far as color goes. But maybe another color they haven't tried.

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10

I went back to Windows 10, now that I have a little more downtime. Reinstalled programs that wouldn't run after W10 and that seemed to fix the issues.

You have some GREAT pictures in there! When looking back on this trip and everything you got to see and experience, the end of it should be a minor blip of misfortune. Awesome report.

Next 2015 Pants WITH REDFISH Adventure - Go West (not so) Young Man!

All of this is +1. Nighthawk had a dent in the tank, but that was really it. It was only a dent in the tank, but they came back with an estimate of $2200 before labor. They counted some scratches on the engine case, which I never noticed and don't think were a result of the other bike falling...

Next 2015 Pants WITH REDFISH Adventure - Go West (not so) Young Man!

Well that sucks. The scenery is hypnotizing. I was in awe of what was around me 2 weeks ago and it was easy to get distracted. The same was true on our southwest tour 3 years ago. Experiencing it on a motorcycle is euphoric. Those hypnotic moments have to be accounted for in the...

    Montana / Idaho Trip

The trip was awesome. Epic even. Nobody got hurt, nobody got thrown in jail, and nobody got sick. Had a minor electrical issue with one of the Goldwings that never came back (ground spider?) and we were rained off the bikes in Boise for a day. Temperature was colder than expected that none of...

    Montana / Idaho Trip

That would be nice, but just a little too far out of range. And I'm know 4 of the 6 of us have passports, but I don't know that the other two do. Reservations have been made, the bikes have had a few extra farkles added for the ease of the trip. A bluetooth adapter for the Goldwing and a...

    Most Loved Farkle or Accessory

RDL seat and cruise control. Toss up between the two. I rode a stock Gen 3 a couple weeks ago and don't know how I ever sat on a stock seat. Cruise control is awesome though.

    Montana / Idaho Trip

More straps! I still have no good solution for the back, but the side cases are coming off this time. We sat down Saturday and planned the route. It was decided to skip Yellowstone, much to our disappointment. There is just too much of a time constraint. We would waste a day just getting...

    Tech Day XI: 10/10/2015

That may be a stretch for me. I would like a valve check and maybe a throttle body sync. Depends on how much electrical work is required for others (for convincing the wife to let me go).
