    Montana / Idaho Trip

So we've got a big trip coming up. Another family adventure. My brother, my dad, my uncle, my cousin, naskie18, and I are headed west. Going To The Sun Road has been on Dad's bucket list for a while now and this year we decided we're going to cross it off. Basically we have a week. Trailer...

Right Side Case from 06 - Free + Shipping

Someone wants it, they can have it. Just pay for the shipping. Bag fell off during a trailering incident and rattled around a bit. Paint is roughed up a bIt, wore down to the plastic in one spot. It latches to the bike, but not securely. Might be able to be fixed as rumor has it the...

Michigan Coast To Coast - 2015 Nighthawk-Forums Rally Report

Last weekend, we had the Nighthawk-Forums.com Michigan Coast To Coast Rally, only with no Nighthawks. But hey, there was at least a Honda. Participation was low, consisting of only 2 forum members traveling from out of state. It was to be expected though. Michigan isn't known for challenging...

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10

It looked way better than Windows 8. I was looking forward to it, but the compatibility wasn't there. I can't afford to have a laptop down while I figure it out, so I went back to 7. I'll do some research on the issues I was seeing and if they get resolved, I might try again.

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10

I made it about an hour on Windows 10. Paint Shop Pro and Diablo 3 would not run. Well, I tried. Already back on Windows 7.

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10

Started the upgrade process at lunch, but not before doing a full system image of my Windows 7 setup. Really didn't like Windows 8, so I downgraded the laptop to Windows 7. Works well, but scaling doesn't work well on Windows 7 with the 4k display. I'll give it a shot to evaluate it, but it...

Some beasts aren't meant to be caged - Trailering & Saddlebag Latch Issue

Took the bike to the local dealer and borrowed their 05. Problem follows my bag, not my bike. I guess that's good? Maybe? I don't know. I can get it to latch enough to ride it for the time being. Insurance company is buying me a new bag. $100 comprehensive deductible sure beats $500 for a...

Some beasts aren't meant to be caged - Trailering & Saddlebag Latch Issue

Thanks for the measurements, greatly appreciated. Travel on the bag was around 40mm. I don't recall the exact number, but it matched the left bag, which fits snug. I had the calipers out last night measuring. Measurement from the mount to the top of the rubber piece is about 171.45mm. Only...

Some beasts aren't meant to be caged - Trailering & Saddlebag Latch Issue

With 2 bikes in the trailer, the tie down points on the bike aren't very far away from the bike. We get it to hold, but it always requires adjustment every couple hundred miles. All 4 of them generally are loose. The exhaust is what really gets in the way of an effective tie down. A new...

Some beasts aren't meant to be caged - Trailering & Saddlebag Latch Issue

This year, Nick and I decided to do the Ramapo 500, and the wife was also going to tag along. With her going, trailering is required because she works 3rd shift the night before. And our truck/trailer combo works pretty well. But the FJR has never been really happy about being tied down...

Next 2015 Pants WITH REDFISH Adventure - Go West (not so) Young Man!

Take the tour. They will drive you right up to the Canyon entrance and a guide will take you through it. It is crowded, especially at noon, since that is when the best time of the day for sunlight is in the canyon. More picturesque and the rates go up a bit around that time. The guide will...

    Farkling Parts

You were worried about 2 different seats? But 2 different colors doesn't bother you? It'd drive me nuts. Damn the cost, you've got a brand new bike! I'm just jealous is all.

    Ramapo 500?

Guess nobody told me that part. That pretty much explains why details are so vague.

    Ramapo 500?

I will do that. I sent an email about 3 weeks ago asking about GPS files and never heard anything back. I've heard they had them and CoPilot usually takes some massaging to get them to work right. I was hoping I'd be able to take care of that before the morning of the ride. Is there some...

    Ramapo 500?

Yeah, we're pre-registered. I think.. Maybe, haven't heard anything. But they cashed the check, so I assume we're good. We're cheating. Bikes are being trailered out for a few reasons. One being time constraints. Second being a wife who works third shift that has to sleep on the way there...

    Ramapo 500?

Anybody here doing this ride? https://www.ramapomc.org/RMC_Events_files/rmc_ramapo500.pdf The guys on the Nighthawk Forum have been begging me to come out for this for the last few years. This year, the wife and I are making it happen. Just curious if anyone else was going to attend.

Next 2015 Pants WITH REDFISH Adventure - Go West (not so) Young Man!

I had a ride report on here from the trip we did. But apparently I can't find it. If I can find it, I'll post it in here. I know it's over on NHF. https://nighthawk-forums.com/index.php/topic,44.0.html Here's a link to all of the pictures we took...

    Farkling Parts

The initial install of my cruise control was under the tank. Not quite the path you are talking about, since it was stuffed all the way up front. But I never saw any issues with wires or the vacuum melting. I doubt you'll see any problems, but others may have had different experiences.

    Farkling Parts

Before you cut up the connector, you could try a different device that charges with Mini B connector. Just in case that isn't you issue.
