Road Jimbo's FJR home from Greenbay Wi......and then took it to Colorado to race around the canyons with my BMW group.....and one FJR friend....in my Ride Report I was asked for my observations......I have 22K on my 05RT, and owned an early FJR.....and have ridden a 07 GT.....20 miles 06 FJR...

I just finished 3054 miles in 6 days on my 2006 FJR...with 100 of my closest friends....Colorado is beautiful this time of year Whip

Before you jump to the RT..check out the maintenance schedule...every 6K.....you have to adjust the valves....when my shocks went out on my 05 RT(22K miles)they said they are a usable item and not covered by waranty.....$4000 for replacements....RT's are a little like Harley's...over priced and...

On the 06 FJR they have muffler guards for the passenger pegs ....they should work on the earlier years...maybe you could order a set...they look easy to work with.... Whip

Don I own a R1200RT that I put 22K on since August 05.....Shocks gone $4k to replace...got mad went lookin...I owned a 2003 FJR...heat issue and lack of elect. capabilties made me change....now I think thats all worked out so I came home....to the 06 FJR..... Also own a Screamin Eagle Road...

Thanks folks....I just road the FJR 2000 miles in 3 days......my wrist was killing me....I wish I would have pulled over and let loose that spring.....I just did and what a difference...... Whip

I bought "Jimbo's" 2006 FJR...I took a flight to Green Bay and spent a couple days riding it back to Texas.. After picking the bike up and taking the pix at Lambeau... I realized I may never be in Wisconsin again...my home was 1700 miles south...so I headed north.........to Sturgeon...

I had a chance to ride a new GT for a couple hundred miles....I think it would make a great track bike......I've owned a 2003 FJR and just made arrangements to pick up a 2006 FJR on Monday.....don't let the Mags fool ya...it's not the same kinda bike......I don't think I could ride it much more...

My first Post...I want to thank everyone for this thread.....very informative...I owned a 2003 FJR sold it and bought a RT12 when the FJR died one cold morning...too much electric off the battery....heated seat,2 widder vests, XM ,Baehr....wife on back not happy...I will now consider a 2006...
