New Cannonball Run record - on FJR1300

I learned a new word. Unscaved.

    ECU Reflash Question...Turned Rev Limiter

I’m fortunate in that the throttle response was not at all affected when my ecu was reflashed during the recall. No jerky jerk when it went in, no difference when it came out.    I like the ride mode and PAIR functionality described from Ivan’s flash. Sounds pretty cool.

    Yamaha comfort seat

It’s a great seat. While I love my laam, I could probably ride a Yamaha comfort exclusively these days. Don’t tempt me skooter.

    ECU Reflash Question...Turned Rev Limiter

You won’t hit the (lower gear) limiter unless you’re purposely abusing your clutch. It doesn’t come into play no matter how hard you’re accelerating, in any gear, unless you’re murderating the clutch.    Won’t happen with the clutch lever in. Won’t happen with the clutch lever out.

    Who makes expanded fuel tanks?

Who what where why?  All the w’s.

    2022 FJR?

My last one was red. The liquid graphite ones are looking better and better to me.

Sorting exhaust slip-ons pros and cons

No Pros except sound, appearance, and weight. No cons except cost, sound, appearance, and weight. I love my R77’s. But no slip on is going to noticeably affect performance or mileage.

    helibars question - tank interference?

You just pull the rear bolt and slide the tank back so it clears.

    2022 FJR?

I’m waiting for a 22 FJR, and, depending upon color, will trade my current fjr for it. Absent availability, I’ll look at a super ten instead.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Not Yamaha protocol. Not when I talked to them and not when I had mine done. That’s a dealer request, and not a reasonable one.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Their “all staff is in a meeting” recording is a commonly used setting for the Yamaha klown corps in Kennesaw. It can go on for days. Doesn’t really mean anyone is in a meeting. I never got that when I was talking to their Cali office.

    Garage Door Opener

Now that both of my neotec’s have the ability to summon Siri without me touching anything, this has come to mind. I just need to figure out what thingy to wire in to make my non-Q but still-pretty-new chamberlain opener work with wifi.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Mine was reflashed as a matter of course. No perceptible change in performance.

Back on the Road: Transmission Recall Repair Done

None. No difference in anything, except it shifts a little more crisply. No difference in power, acceleration, etc.

Back on the Road: Transmission Recall Repair Done

Mine is done. It was good to get it back. I rode a naked HD fat boy lo for a week while the fjr was in the shop.    They are not the same.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Mine is done. Pickup tomorrow or Saturday. They’ve already heat-cycled. They want to ride it for a few miles before I take it home. We shall see.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

I’m on the same schedule. Thursday is what I’m hoping for, but Friday or Saturday won’t be a huge surprise. Service manager said they want to take their time with the first one, but I know they want to move on to the next thing too.
