    OK you twisty hotdogs

Again, a good riding class will help. At the Parks TC-ARC they spent a lot of time with each lesson reinforcing things like foot position, relaxed arms, etc. The finer points. When you're "in" a turn like that, your feet should be tucked up and back so only the toes are on the pegs. Then you...

Thought I had the bike I could ride forever...

Just to point out, if you're sitting properly on a motorcycle, you should *not*, in any way, to any degree, be holding yourself up with your arms. You should be able to let go of one side of the bars at any time without moving your torso or changing your "set" on the bike. That's when you know...

    motorcycle crash - Israel

What was the little critter going from right to left across the lanes, and behind the taxi towards the end of the video? (the only actually-interesting thing in the vid)

Thought I had the bike I could ride forever...

Conditioning. And there are ways to adjust the bars to mitigate the shoulder issue. But largely, it's a matter of conditioning the body to what *seems* un-natural compared to our cars, desk chairs, sofas, etc.

    OK you twisty hotdogs

The FJR will lean farther than you think it will. But don't. Proper body position and turning technique negates the need for extreme leans - especially when doing it just to prove something. Take an advanced rider's course - like the Lee Parks TC-ARC, for instance - and step up your riding quality.

    Head Shake-Not mine, the bike

It'll happen. Check and retorque your head bearings. Most overlooked maintenance item ever.

Need help with keeping forest rats out of my yard

The dog needs to be able to roam. One of those invisible fences and 2 weeks to train the dog and your deer problem is gone. Been there, done that. Worked like a charm. Couple weeks of the dog chasing the deer, then peeing and dumping on your lawn to spread its scent and the deer won't be back.

*NWS* Found my perfect retirement job

Yeah, me neither. I'd be too busy with my nose up her... oh wait. Sorry. I was about to get vulgar ;)

    Helmet, no other gear?

I find *nothing* enjoyable about riding without a helmet. The wind in my face, the bugs slapping me in the face, my eyes watering and the general discomfort of 60mph wind going up my nose... no thank you. I'll never understand the people who ride all the time without a helmet. The bug crud alone...

    Dropping The FJR and YOU

What year is yours? Might want to consider different seat foam or cutting it. I suspect your problem isn't the seat height, but rather the width. My '06 has the Corbin seat and I've got a 30" inseam and I'm a balls-of-my-feet guy when stopped. Never really feel like it's going to go over.

Any Experience with the New Bridgestone BT021's?

The 020s suck ass. The 021s might be worth trying. I put Pilot Roads on my FJR and at ~6000 miles I'm going to need a new rear tire soon. I'll probably just go with another Road until it's time to put front and rear on together. At that point I might try the 021s.

Ah, yeah... I hear ya. Sucks when life gets in the way. ;)

I used to really love Sandra Bullock. (sigh)

    That's what I was thinking!

Where do you put your IPod?

Before I built my electronics pod ( https://chornbe.com/motorcycles/fjr/electronics/ ), I just stuffed it in a jacket pocket and used the Griffin Air Click remote. Now it's mounted in my pod and I *still* use the Air Click remote.

    Dropping The FJR and YOU

I rode a Concours. That'll train you for *any* heavy or top-heavy bike. The FJR is a breeze, comparitively.

Me and my FJR got spanked today

Exactly. And even with the absolute best machine, very, very few people have what it takes to really move a machine fast and well. Training is some of the equation, a big part, but there are individual factors, too. There is natural talent, in-born reaction and reflex times, the mind's ability...

Who will be the first to have an FJR TAT?????

Of course. That's why I don't have my wife's name tattooed on my arm. I just have a tattoo of a picture of a ******! :coolsmiley:
