    Is Cruise Control Consistent

Clip, Clip, who's got a Clip?

Those things are typically common parts in the automotive industry. Lowes and menards carry stuff like that, as should a good auto parts store. Otherwise search for the part on the microfiche. Yamaha has a good parts finder, get the part number and google it.

    Tire change in MSP

I have a shop, no mar tire changer, and I am also kicking around a ride around gichigami.

    Oil for long distance riding

Keep going with what you already go with. One over mile oil change isn't going to hurt anything. I run T6 in pretty much everything we have.

    Rostra help

Nope... doesn't matter. Rostra may put together a kit that aimed specifically for GM projects, but the core unit will be the same.

    Rostra help

I have a Gen II and installed the Rostra, works perfect. I will have to check the dip switch setting.

    Well.... I have time now.

Oh I am staying busy. Cycling about 100 miles a week. I have lost 54 pounds since the first of the year, attacking the low hanging fruit projects. Our 11 year old camper needs some love. I am certainly not idle. Have another interview tomorrow but it would mean a 70 mile one way commute...

Thanks. Still looking, there has been a little bit of movement so far which is nice.

Gen II Rostra Cruise Control Install

I did a google search for the cruise control and the keypad I wanted with the "engage" LED. I used the Rostra site to gather the part numbers then google to find the cheapest option. Below is the link to Rostra. https://www.rostra.com/

    Why?

I use to live in Seattle and rode victory motorcycles. I have bought two bikes from SVP. Had a lot of service done up there, until some drama unfolded and they unloaded on of their main guys. After that, these days I do pretty much all of my own maintenance including tire changes.

cycle hill vs no mar, should I change

CL can be tough. After being burned enough times I use a first come first serve policy unless someone puts cash down through paypal. But if someone is coming from hours away and says they are on their way, I will honor that. I offer the same if it's something I want but can't immediately get...

cycle hill vs no mar, should I change

I have a no mar classic, I change tires solo. $275 is a screaming deal. I paid $400 with a ton of accessories including spare parts off of craigslist. It's already paid for as far as I am concerned. Whether or not it's a good deal, that's entirely up to you. If you have a need to do...

    Well.... I have time now.

I am not looking for any money at this point. I just like turning wrenches. So if anyone had some work to be done, or needs a farkle installed. I am available. Electrical work isn't a problem either. I have the pro level crimpers and can wield a soldering iron.

    Well.... I have time now.

I have a degree in chemical engineering, with a lot of process engineering experience and a little control system engineering experience. I am trying to nail down something more on the process side of things. In an ideal world I would like to find a process engineer gig that also does controls.

    Well.... I have time now.

Well I was laid off last Tuesday. The company I was working for cut 20% of the "force." If you have any light maintenance items tended to, or tires changes, etc outside of tech day, I have a shop and time.

What did you do to your FJR today?

If battery tenders are useless and I didn't own one, come spring time my camper batteries would be dead, and my lawn mower wouldn't start. I only use the tender if it was going to be a month or more between uses.

What did you do to your FJR today?

My shift linkage was squeaky, so I took it all apart, cleaned it up, greased, and reassembled. whoever last installed the pivot bolt last used enough blue locktite for the whole damn bike. I had to use an impact to get it out.

Fuel Economy Map for Power Commander V

Interesting. Can you quantify the cooler running? Running rich will reduce combustion temps. Consider picking up an autotune, and experimenting. If you want better fuel economy you're going to have to lean it out. Excessively lean has its own set of problems you won't want.

Installing All Balls Racing Tapered Steering Head Bearings

The stock bearings looked brand new, even the grease was nice and clean.
