Replaced Gen II shock with a Gen III shock

My experience with the new shock turned out to be short lived. I longed for the days when a sport touring bike didn't mean a 600+ pound bike. As a result I set out to build up a light weight sport touring bike. Here is the final result: But back to the shock, Any ride height change was...

    Custom LED Arrangements

Keep in mind that the wire can be very small, 22-26 gauge is fine. I ran a 4 conductor cable through the bottom of the case on the left side. I purchased a computer fan extension cable https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058DN7B8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 because it had a...

    Custom LED Arrangements

During the buildup of my compact sport touring bike https://www.fototime.com/CF592B8F6C93712/medium800.jpg I wanted to add LED lights to the Givi top case. Admore has a kit for the V46 case but it only utilizes the center red circles for tail/stop and it costs $99. I'd seen where others had done...

FJR Handed Off to a New Owner

I completed the sale of my 2006 last night The new owner was all smiles. I hope to get my new small/mid-sized sport touring project on the road in the next few weeks. I'm sure my time here will drop drastically so I'll take this opportunity to thank all those who have been helpful during my...

    Side Bag Protection

Looks good in that application but that would pretty much cover all of the painted area on the Givi.

    Side Bag Protection

This has come up before, and I've read the posts I found in my Google search. Since some of those go back as far as 2008, I'm looking for some more up-to-date experience. I've got a set of Givi bags on the way that have a smooth plastic insert on the case lids in the same place you'd find the...

    2006 FJR1300 for sale - Bottom Line - only $4900!

I've been talked into being willing to accept $4900, but....the buyer needs to convince the wife putting any sale on hold. I thought I might as well offer the same deal here since your money is just as green. I couldn't pass on a great deal on a local dual sport and bought it this morning. I...

    2007 Ducati Monster 695

Everybody needs a sexy Italian to play with, and here is your chance. I'm in the process of acquiring another bike I will be making into a light weight sport touring ride. With four bikes already in the stable I need to make room, so my Ducati has to go. The bike is in excellent condition with...

    loading FJR in a pickup

100% in agreement. There is nothing wrong with using the side stand while you get your straps loosely attached just be sure you put it up as well. Placing the bike on the center stand raised the center of gravity and makes it much more likely that the bike will move around. The two small steel...

    Cheap alternative to Ventz

Clips are going to be required. I rode in some really strong side winds today that dislodged the one on the windy side.

    Cheap alternative to Ventz

I also wear mesh when the conditions call for it, but on longer trips through a wide range of temperatures mesh alone just isn't going to cut it.

    Cheap alternative to Ventz

No plans for clips at this time. I need to put in some more miles to see if clips are needed. So far they've stayed in place.

    Cheap alternative to Ventz

I have an Olympia AST 3/4 jacket that I'm really happy with. Occasionally, when it is warm, even when the substantial venting on the jacket is open I find myself holding my left arm in a way that catches the air flow and directs it up the sleeve. At speed this is a very effective cooling...

what givi top case to get

Here is my Givi 52L to give you somewhat of an idea. A friend has the 55 and the admore lighting on the 52 is much better/more visible that the lights that go with the 55. My case was unpainted when I got it and it looked crappy, like a giant out of place black milk crate.
