    I own a 08 FZ1 & Dynoed @152 RWHP, [ you don't have to spend a fortune to achieve this] & I can tell you my 08 FJR with aftermarket slipons,PC111, K&N filter, etc etc with almost the same money spent, is quick, but no match for the FZ1, particularly performance & handling wise. Two entirely...

    You have got it spot on. As for some of the " Locked in a time zone/Dinosaur" Gen1 owners, poor buggers just can't handle change. :unsure:

    Spoken like a true Harley owner. Oh, wait....did I just associate a Gen II with a Harley? Nah....never heard of a Harley that needed an ignition recall, ECU replacement, instant MPG-display replacement, wiring harness replacement & clutch soak. But like a Harley, them Gen IIs are heavier...

    why are touring bikes so damn heavy??

    Weight does have its advantages. Ride through a pool of water on the road at speed & the FJR just slices through it. Now before you try the same thing on a crotch rocket,just make sure all your insurances are all paid up.

    tech spech tank pads

    Yes it is reusable. BTW if you have a short inseam [like me] you will have to reshape the pad & stick it to both sides of the plastic cover at the base of tank. Sit on bike & position pad where knee contacts cover.......easy. If you have to reshape the pad DO NOT REMOVE THE BACKING FROM THE PAD...

    Summer Riding Pants

    This is a no-brainer, & as Expensive as it maybe, but do yourself a favour & lash out on the Cycleport air mesh 2 piece zip together. If / when that bitumen says "come to me baby" at least you know you are wearing the best textile protection available & in most cases including leather. :yes:
