    Fjr Motorcycle Cover

While I have mine garaged, I wanted a cover - more specifically a cover to keep dust, etc. out. I bought one from WalMart. It was the one for garaged bikes, labled "for touring bikes" and it covers it from head to toe AND top to bottom, with a LOT of room left over. Truly! Bags on and all. I...

    "Vibration" While Turning/Leaning Left

Hello all, I have a new to me 07 AE that I have had for about 6 weeks. (~7000 miles now, meaning I have put ~1400 miles on it since purchased. I have noticed that while turning/leaning left, that the bike develops a "vibration". This may have existed when new, but as I have had to address the...

    The best sport bike?

This is not one of "The Best Sportbike" entries, but as I was re-visiting this post, this came to mind - a 1978 Honda CBX...

Looks Great! I'm glad to hear you are back up and riding. I have an 07AE and it looks a lot like yours (with the farkles - I know the bikes will look the same). Wow! Your bike looks great! Can you tell me where you got the trunk and its mounting plate? Jill wants to go 2 up with me (to be...

How many gallons have you had to put in?

I average 44 - 45 MPG on my 07AE. However, I get to one (1) line and stop to fill up. The fuel gauge leads me to believe that I have less fuel. It takes about 4.0 to 4.5 gallons to fill it up. Confusing. Also, I have a G2 installed and have run premium fuel. (I'll change to a lesser grade after...

How to tighten windscreen motor assembly?

My 07AE is the same way. I actually investigated this last night because while it works I found it irritating. However.....It's tight as from the factory. I do not know if this is the way ALL FJRs are or a select few model years.

    SE Ohio ride August 4th

Thanks for the heads up. I had not thought of planning a ride, but now I know the basics, I'll keep that in mind. I see you mentioned Athens and Caldwell as starting points. I'll break out the atlas and check the online maps. If I come up with something, I'll post.

    Bags on or off...

FYI, If you keep the bags on and go down they're toast but you could add these as shown below on the right in a 1988 photo. (lol)

    SE Ohio ride August 4th

wheaton and el toro, Thanks for the quick reply. Do you try to plan for a one day ride with it being long (or short for that matter)? Or do you plan multiple day trips? Who plans? What are the criteria for planning? How many members participate usually? What mileage do you shoot for? Breaks...

Monstrously Fat Front Tire Drives Sport Bike’s Design

This reminds me of BMW's Concept 6. I LOVE that bike. Can you imagine one of BMW's inline 6's as a power plant with all of their fine engineering thay have done developing that technology in their cars? Here is the link: https://www.webbikeworld.com/BMW-motorcycles/bmw-concept-6/

    solo rider

The Honda NT700??!! Wow. I love Honda, but when they make a decision to dump the VFR800, and substitute that bike I had to walk away. - Sorry, I had to get that out. Now to the original question... I too ride alone most but not all of the time. IMO the FJR is a perfect bike to go one up based...

2up and questions on power delivery

It seems to me that while you describe your riding history, most of your questions center on the "power" of the FJR. So, it seems to me that if you are wondering if it is too much power for you, go test ride one. The power is there, when YOU decide to use it. It is one competent and well made...

The good news is that I am alive ....

LAZ 1, Glad to hear you are alive and OK. I was glad to hear that you had the awareness to roll into the ditch. Great thinking! With those "bent" ribs and the cartlidge I'll bet it hurts only when you laugh. Or cough. Or sneeze. Or breathe...............

Think I found my vibration problem

Wow! Looks great. I suppose if your car needs brakes, you'll return with a Porshe Boxster? (lol) This sounds so much like me. Please let me know how you like it and what it's like to ride.

Two questions on YCCS and engine

I have on 07 AE. Mine was nearly smooth. Then I got a G2 and it was smooth - just right in fact. The idle was set at about 900 RPM, and I believe that the correct setting is 1000 - 1100. I set it at 1000 and STUTTERING! Coming to a stop, downshifting from 2nd to 1st and then slowing down more to...
