I have had my AE for 10yrs now and love it. It only let me down once when the heated throttle grip shorted out and caused a fault that affected its ability to shift. Once i chased that down and fixed it and cleared the fault code i was OK again. I especially love it at track days shifting...

Great bike! I have logged over 100k on two of them and now every time i see a nice one for sale i get the itch. I am going to hold off on this one because i want a new FJR soon myself and no room in the garage. Best of luck.

With all the wild fires what routes are folks taking to the Rueben Run? Many of our favorite roads are going to be pretty smokey or worse. I was thinking of taking a westerly route, staying west of I-5, and going east around Salem or Eugene. Someone told me Terratorial Rd in OR is awsome...

Once you track down the electrical short i suggest you reconnect the sidestand switch. I used to ride with a guy that disconnected his and then forgot to put his sidestand down. It was a nasty crash! Ruined our weekend ride. I don't ride with him anymore.

I had an issue and it turned out to be the heated throttle wires shorted and caused it to stop shifting. I ended up with a code 54 error or something like it. Open up the throttle assembly on the handle bars and inspect the wires carefully. Mine was improperly reassembled by a yamaha tech and...
