    Russell Day Long

New in Dec 2010, I crashed in June 2011, have been in storage ever since. Made for rider weight of 220lb in gear, 30" inseam, 5'10". Pillon weight 190lb. Used for a 2000 mile trip and one 400 mile trip until the crash. The seat was absolutely awesome, made a huge difference in long rides...

WTB GEN I Russell Day Long

I think the extra 2" inseam would be beneficial as I could have used a little more leg when my feet were down. Not a problem, just a wish. The seat will be fine for your dimensions, I feel. Of course I would accept a return if you're willing to pay. Pics are coming, I'm just busy...

I have a Day Long for sale. I bought it in fall 2010 and used it on 2 trips in the spring of 2011 before crashing and no longer owning a bike. It has sat in storage ever since. It is black vinyl and is built both rider and pillon. I am 220lb in riding gear and she was 190lb in riding gear. My...

    Chicago to Virginia and back

Reading your report was a hoot when I saw the pig picture, but holy jeez, the rest...At least you landed on your feet and ended up with a bike with a newer suspension and younger too. Progressive was great in my accident and will be for you I bet. Good luck!

    synthetic oil

Amsoil. The cost never mattered to me because it wasn't that much anyways. I did notice alot smoother shifting when I went from 20W50 to 10W40. It was silky smooth and not much clunk into first gear.

Finally got the bike-now I got questions !

Those are all great newbie questions! You are going to have to learn to search this forum, as all the answers have been discussed at length here before and members are loath to rediscuss the same issue each time a new member joins. It's called jumping on a dogpile and I am trying not to jump...

    Fair price for a 2005 ? Accesories ?

That's a fair price considering the low miles. The heat was good for living in Wisconsin. The only time I didn't like it was in the Smokie Mountains in 90 degree weather. After my recent accident, I wouldn't buy anything other than ABS equipped. When I bought my bike I hemmed and hawed over the...

Good ride recommendations for the Smoky's

You've got to do Deals Gap and the Cherohola Highway if they're near your route. Both are different styles of riding and great mountain crossings. Personally I liked the Cherahola Hwy the best. The whole area is full of great scenic routes. On our last trip, the wife and I explored near Helena...

    CFO rally accident

The bike was a write off, the day I was released from Madison my parents drove me the 90 min to where the bike was and I stripped most stuff I could out of it. The worst was leaving the Ohlins rear shock I had just put in over christmas. :dribble: The fronts were bent. Can you just imagine...

    First Long Distance

Nice ride report! I preferred the throttle lock over the cramp buster especially after 350 miles. Keep riding!

    CFO rally accident

I was wearing the tourmaster line, Air Intake 2 jacket and flex pants, solution boots and winter golves, a shoei rf-1000 helmet. I was released on June 17th to heal at home, 2-3 month estimate, but no one really knows. I'm healing slow but fast, more energy, can lay on my side to sleep now for...
