    2006 FJR fork springs

I weigh 175 lbs. in street clothes, ride mostly solo, went with .95 springs in my '08 which seem just right for me. DO change fork oil about every 12K as fresh fluid does make a small difference in ride compliance.

    Widening stock bars

Another option is an MV-Motorrad riser https://www.mv-motorrad.de/en/Yamaha+FJR+1300+2006+up+to+2015+MV+Handlebar+Adapter+Plate.htm which allows for the handlebars to be swung out which in effect widens them a bit. I did that with mine and liked the width and angle but went back to leaning too...

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

Nice kit! Another adjustable bar back option I came across: https://www.powermadd.com/products/PowerRiser475.html

    Skiing with a 2018 FJR1300AS

Congrats on the new "automatic"! Sounds like it's pretty rare on the island so you won't be "seeing yourself' coming the other way anytime soon!

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

Though too cobbled together looking for me but it looks a lot more comfortable. Kudos for the innovation!

    2005 Rear Shock

My Gen 2 is getting sloppy @ 50 K and as much as I want a Penske, a Gen 3 OEM for half the price (or less) is hard to pass up, (especially now that I ride my DR650 80% of the time. )

    Headlight bulb recommendations

Osram Night breaker Unlimited. Shorter life but throw a well controlled beam and are definitely brighter and light up the road better than standard bulbs. Replaced my old NB+ bulbs with these with over 400 hrs. on them. They were still burning but considered it preemptive maintenance to change...

Making Jerky and other dehydrated foods

I tried elk jerky a couple years ago and found the meat to have a bit of inherent sweetness along with nice texture. Gotta agree it was better than beef.

    Yamaha NIKEN

... "hoping (dreaming) of a 900cc-range Super Ten"... I'm hoping/dreaming of the T7 we've been teased with for the past year! As much as I love my DR650, a T7 could be my 'Goldilocks' bike.

    Phillip Island MotoGP

For much of the race it was more like Moto 3 with all the dicing at the front! Great, (occasionally REALLY) close racing!

Making Jerky and other dehydrated foods

My mom used a cheepy $30 dehydrator for years and made some of the best jerky I ever had. Worked fine and she'd make lbs. at a time. Don't know what the recipe was but it was good!

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

I ride my DR 650 almost exclusively all summer so my FJR sits for months sometime. The DR 'dirt bike' bars are very comfortable and when I switch back to the FJR when the weather gets colder, I pretty much hate the bars for a couple weeks until I re-adapt to them. And that is with an MV riser...

    Switched 12v near the handlebars?

ESPECIALLY doomed if you add a fuze block! You will start to hear voices when you are near the bike beckoning you to fill all those circuits with electrical things that you never thought you needed!

    Direct Mount Highway Pegs

Same with mine on the right side. Tweaked the plate a little but no damage to the engine cover or and leaking/weeping. Well, I did some weeping...

    My Friday driving experience

Fun stuff! About 18 years ago when working for MB we were sent to Pocono in PA for a track weekend and got to drive all the different models on the road course. Having had done a whole bunch of bike track days over the years I understood the concept of going fast on a track so had a blast and...

Vibration Survey for Owners of More Than One FJR1300

My other bike is an '09 DR650. My '08 FJR has vibration?

New generation of tires Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ & Michelin Power RS

I have Q3's on my SV650 track bike for track days and can run at 90% of race pace I used to run on slicks. I really like them for track days but have no idea how long they'd last as every day street tires.

    Dunlop Roadsmart 3

"Smoother than Bridgestone T30s. To the point I was wondering if pressure was low." That's what I like, good bump compliance. I did not like PR2's because they rode hard, switched to BT023 GT's and liked the softer compliance, put on T30 GT's after them and noticed they lost some of the...
