Luggage space on the 18+ Wings are adequate.  Smaller yes and so is the rest of the bike.  Just got off a one week trip on mine and had enough room for everything plus 24 bottles of water.  Two up might be a problem but I'm solo so it works for me.

You live in a great place to learn about FJR handling.  Heading out that way myself over Labor Day.  Wonderful place to ride.

Proper thing to do is take the wife and go sit on the bike and see if it fits or not.  I ride solo so significant other's concerns I could care less about.   It's not a Goldwing if that is the position you are looking for.

Don't know what type of riding gear you have but that can cut down on the clothes needed for the trip.  Use the riding suit everyday and then pack a pair of jeans and a few shirts and you are good to go.  Will really cut down on the laundry stops.  Wash the undies and socks and you're done. ...
