    WTB top case, any color

Crazy! Top case hinges broke and lid flew off on the highway even though the lock was secured. Need a replacement OEM case for 2005 FJR before this summer's cross-country expedition. Thanks!

    Recommendation for Side Cases

I’m interested in the Givi rack for my 2005 Gen 1 if it can be installed simply and straightforwardly with the OEM rack either in place or removed.

New to the forum and to Fjr

I’m 5’7”, 30” inseam so we are very different shapes. I have HeliBar risers on my 2005 FJR for more upright seating and shorter reach to the handlebars — works well for me. I also sing the praises of Russell Daylong seats (as do many others) — over 433,000 super-comfy miles on three bikes with...

    Cleveland, OH, Pro Yamaha Service

I can't say enough good things about Pro Yamaha Service located in the suburb of North Royalton. Owner Ed Schuerger is a true professional, an expert and knowledgeable mechanic, and a fair businessman.

    Gear indicator

In my experience the fail-safe 5th gear indicator is the tachometer. If I glance at the tach when traveling at 70 mph, it will read 4000 rpm in 5th gear. If it reads 5000 rpm I'm in in 4th gear and forgot to shift that last time (because the FJR is so smooth and quiet, even with 184,000 miles...

    Seeking advice on first FJR

What a fabulous bike! Choose whatever generation your budget allows and you won't be disappointed. I bought my Gen 1 2005 with 50,000 miles and now have 183,000 trouble-free miles on the odometer. Minimal mods: Helibar risers to accommodate my 72 year old body; Russell DayLong saddle (my...

Off the FJ09 and back on the 05 FJR

I’ve reached 132.000 mostly trouble-free miles (on top of the 50k when I bought it), though the bags and bodywork show the results of a close encounter with a gravel road in northern Saskatchewan. My ‘05 won’t win any beauty contests, but with a Russell Daylong saddle I know there are a lot more...

    Sidecase Compatibility Throughout Gen's 1-4?

I’m looking to buy a replacement top case for my 2005 (Galaxy Blue), but color match isn’t essential. Any case that’ll work with the standard FJR mounting base is fine.

Top case/top box wanted for Gen 2 (2005)

Looking to buy a replacement Yamaha top box.  Prefer Cobalt blue to match side cases, but color not a deal-breaker.

    Looking for tire wear

I must say I'm always a bit shocked to hear about tires wearing out at 5,000-7,000 miles.  I'm about to mount a fourth set of Dunlop Roadsmart 3's because the first three sets went 17,000-18,000 happy miles with even wear, good traction wet or dry, confident handling, etc.  I don't baby my 2005...

SOLD Stock Rear Shock (from Gen 1)

Ignacio, do you still have one of those '05 shocks for sale? If so, I think I'm your buyer. My original shock just blew out at 160,000 miles and I don't need an aftermarket upgrade (or the cost of one!). LMK! Bruce

2005 (Gen 1) Shock Absorber needed!

Original shock blew a seal with only 160,000 miles on it! Do you have a shock absorber with relatively low miles to sell? Let's make a deal...
