Good Things Come To Those That Wait........

Outstanding! Congratulations. Don't tell Lucille (nor my darling bride!), but if I won the lottery there would be a gorgeous Redhead in the garage. Enjoy!

Hit the kill switch when stuck in traffic

Those of us on the lower left coast see photos like that and wonder... Why? Why doesn't the rest of 'Murica join us in using all that open road between the parked cars? So, to respond to the OP's original question: nope. The bike keeps running - and usually moving. Several years ago I was...

    Going to the Dark Side

He's soft selling. No mention of his 50CC ride, leaving San Diego with over 30k miles on it and flying low & fast to the East Coast.

Another great CBA RR - thanks for sharing with us.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Removed the existing Widder harness from the battery and installed one for my Tourmaster vest. Tomorrow I'll buy some small electrical ties to tidy up the wiring, reinstall the panels and take it for a test ride. It'll be nice to wear a couple fewer layers on chilly mornings.

Where the heck do these go? or, left over parts.

My guess, too. But I'm about a decade behind.

Sena Users, SMH10 vs the New 3S

To the OP: If you do not yet have a GPS, your iPhone can serve nicely using the 'WAZE' app. Since the SMH10 can communicate with the iPhone (including music), you're golden. If/when you decide to get a GPS, be aware that not every Garmin can communicate with the SMH10. Enjoy!

    Gasoline smell

Mission Accomplished. Don't ask me how. I fiddled around with the fuel lid a bit, but decided to save R&R for later. I removed the seats and necessary plastic, loosened the pivot bolt at the back of the tank, and removed the front bolts. I tried to raise the tank, but the two vent hoses were...

    Gasoline smell

= ) Seriously - if I had hot water, I wouldn't need the heater! I re-thought my priorities yesterday after my workout & shower at the gym. After about an hour of tinkering and only ONE trip tho the hardware store (inconceivable!), I installed a new thermocouple. I MADE FIRE! My water heater...

    Gasoline smell

Another item added to the list, thanks! Naturally, when you said 'air filter' I pictured the Wingabago's air filter - deep within, beneath the mountains of Tupperware & radio controls. Gotta love the simplicity of the FJR.

    Gasoline smell

Again, thanks gents. In the words of Rosanne Rosanadana, "It's always something." The water heater quit yesterday. Since my bride is visiting her family in Phoenix/Chandler/Gilbert for Christmas, I can shower at the gym - and work on Lucille first! Naturally, if I need to order parts, my...

    Gasoline smell

The other morning I rode home and parked in the garage. Got off the bike and smelled gasoline. (Bike had not been sitting in sun; ride home was 20 miles/freeway; tank 5/6 full; air temps high 50s.) No signs of leaking fuel. I left the garage open, and within a couple hours the smell had...

How much is gas where you live?

At Costco a couple days ago and filled the Odyssey tank @ $2.399/gal.

    Drought check

Very nice RR & photos - thanks for taking us along! We rode our Hondapotamus to a Christmas party in San Diego on Sunday. (My bride likes to be spoiled). Always nice to have options.

    FZ1 OEM mirrors

You won't be disappointed. When I first test-rode an FJR, the ONLY complaint I had was the restricted view in the mirrors. The FZ1 mirrors on my '03 are perfect.

    Ride # 1 confirmed

Congratulations! You never forget that first one - it's like a 'Gateway Drug'. Or, as it's known in the mental health community: Committment Papers.
