Gen II ECU reflash by Ivan

I had a 07AE and ran 87 octane for a couple years, no problems. On a ride coming home from Reno, Nv stopped to refuel and the station only had 89 octane. I found the bike ran better, fuel mileage increased, probably due to the increase in performance. After that never went back to 87 octane...

The best year for the FJR1300

Agree, the Asphalt Gray is ugly but the Liquid Graphite is a thing of beauty!

Considering a garage queen, pros and cons.

The ES has 21 different settings for suspension, 7 in each mode of HARD, STANDARD or SOFT. The front springs don't allow for preload adjustment, set up from the factory for a 200 lb rider , give or take. If you weigh less or more the damping rate might not be ideal for you so you would have to...

Considering a garage queen, pros and cons.

I am of the mindset that any FJR that has been ridden and taken care of an d not showing signs of wear other than tires if priced right is a good deal. FJR's are reliable machines on the average and very versatile. I have had three Gen 2 A bikes and all had upgraded suspension. Is the ES worth...

Steering head socket vs spanner for setting torque

I found a castle nut socket on FleaBay for $16.00 used. I found the spanner was too iffy and cumbersome. BTW, nice job @Pete-o on your creation.

The best year for the FJR1300

I like the '15 ES. Still the 5 speed and I have come to really like the electronic suspension, cruise control and updated ( info wise) panel display. But my 09 A was nice also, they are all good and fun.

Fjr 1300 2007 shift gear problem

Are you certain the throttle closes to the stop completely? The 07 AE came with heated grips and the grip wire wraps around in the housing sometimes not allowing the throttle to fully close. The auto shift function ( both paddle and foot shifter) won't allow shifting if the ECU sees a high...

Sold 2012 FJR Brake Parts, Controls, Wiring, Complete Engine + more

Sure, my guess is more than TheCrazyBird is willing to pay. $900-1200? LTL service is costly and that's why I still have my 09 engine sitting in my garage.

How to resurrect Yamaha FJR1300 that's been parked in my garage for 7 years?

All good advise. Concentrate your efforts on getting the engine running. If something needs to be replaced or a major issue arises, the cost of repairing may not be worth it on such an old bike. Flushing the brake/ clutch lines, etc. can be done later. As Dan Cooper suggested, don't forget to...
