2009 Gen2 died while riding to work - frustrating and I need some advise please

I had a 09 that had a factory recall on the spider, I think #7, left hand side. I discovered the recall while installing the Brodie Spider Bite loom. I also have the ignition switch relay fix if this can be of help to you. The 09 is being parted out due to a trash truck backing into the bike and...

    First scratch

i like the contrasting fuel tank trim and seat trim. Did you have to send your seat back to Corbin and did you order the Smuggler in that color?

Are OEM brake pads for a 2014ES sintered?

Yamaha suggests spending money on Yamaha parts. I've owned 3 different model year FJR's and not one of them had caliper issues or leaking seals If it isn't leaking or broken why fix it?

Are OEM brake pads for a 2014ES sintered?

I too have only used EBC Sintered pads and like Ross "rotate" my pads during a tire change. Excellent stopping power and no discernable rotor wear.

Would you pay the Dealer or Replace ABS brake lines Yourself?

I agree with redzgrider, I just acquired a 2015ES that was maintained by the dealer. The previous owner by his own admission had limited mechanical skills and as such wanted it "done right". The rear brake was always spongy and in the eight years ( and $8400.00 in dealer charges ...I have all...

What city do you live? A very competent tailor in Temecula and reasonable prices. Merry Christmas all.

Would you pay the Dealer or Replace ABS brake lines Yourself?

Be very careful with the ABS unit lines, if the kit comes with them. I would only replace the front and rear brake lines. ANY air in the ABS unit will be very difficult to bleed as continuous cycling and bleeding of the ABS unit will be required. If you lack patience you might want to let...

    Looking for information

Welcome to the forum, I had a 2007 AE and the shifts were lightening fast and very reliable. The one thing I didn't like was doing a slow speed u turn. Without a clutch to feather I found it a little difficult. Doable but difficult. Good luck.

Cycle World writer Kevin Cameron knows Squat

Interesting article. With lean angle indicators or rider input, I can see ride height adjustment on-the-fly a thing of the future. Perhaps not on the FJR but appealing to the sport bike group of riders. While I agree somewhat with the ruling by MotoGP to limit ride height to input by rider, if...

    Looking for a rear wheel...

Seems like a lot of discussion here . The OP is looking for a rear wheel for his 17ES. I have a 15ES wheel that also works on a 09 , I've swapped them so I know the speedo works fine. The 07 will not work on the 09, different setup. Toothed vs magnetic ring. I also have the front wheels for the...

    Hello there!

Wongalex, Welcome and sorry for the lost bits. Been there, done that but decided to buy another bike to keep me riding. Yea, that front stay is a pricey piece but trying to straighten it would be a waste of time IMO. Good luck with the rebuild and should you need some bits n bobs I might be...

    Snow is ********

A joy to look at and beautiful to hold but you if don't want to live in it consider it sold. So I did, sold the house in Colorado and moved to San Diego area in SoCal. Riding today in low 70's f and all next week in 80's. Of course all this comes at a price , crazy politics, high fuel costs...

    Extra throttle body hoses

Those two connected hoses coming from throttle bodies #3 and #4 go to the charcoal canister, left hand side. The return line from the canister go back to the fuel tank on the left side as a vapor recovery. These extra hoses are only on California bikes. Most people plug the hoses down at the...
