    ISO new/used Throttlemeister cruise control

I had a Throttlemeister on my first FJR and I liked it, but put a Vista Cruise on the next and it was just as effective, simpler, and much less expensive. Both hold your speed for long enough to use your right hand for something else for a minute or just stretch out a cramp. Neither really...

WTB 05 Galaxy Blue Luggage Port covers / Paint Matched Upper Luggage

I have a full set (6 pcs.) in a lovely red shade. Never installed them, don't even know offhand where the extra two go, but they go somewhere. If you need some bad enough to have Gary/Garauld color them up for you, I'd send them to you or direct to him for painting. $20 to cover postage and...

    Happy Pi day

My sister-in-law's birthday. Retired high school math teacher. :sneaky:

    2022 CFR Nakusp

I was here before cuz I was looking into coming to this--and I finally decided. I just booked into the Leland Hotel down the street. I'm excited to be coming to the rally and also about the Leland--it looks very cool. Kind of Old West-looking but not really trying. "Oldest Hotel in B.C."...

    2022 CFR Nakusp

At least you were laying in your drool and not Fairlaner's.

    It’s not you…it’s me.

NO miles? There must be more to this story.

Recovered Paraplegic back in the Saddle after 25 year sabbatical

Good for you, Markus, and welcome. But ya gotta call it an FJR. That FJ's been gone a long time. Fill in the "location" on your profile. Easier to find folks to ride with that way.

    New Kid on the Block...

There are several new names from around here--including the ones on this thread, so welcome to all of you. Maybe one of these days one of us will organize a local ride. We used to do that more, but some of the locals moved on to 3- and 4-wheels and we kind of lost the habit. But all it takes...

    Getting back into bikes

45K is not bad at all, and neither is $4K, especially if you can work it down a little. Most comparisons seem to find the FJR a bit more sporty, the ST a little more of a tourer, but I'm guessing it's pretty close. If you can get a screaming deal on an ST with the same setup, then you'd want...

    Riding my dog

I haven't used the "search members" feature lately, maybe since the format changed a while back, so I decided to look up what I sent you off to look up. Turns out I misspelled the name (well, he did, actually). It's "marcusorelius." Found a video that shows Duchess in her domain. I didn't...

    Something Cool -- Interested?

Saw this Sunday a couple blocks from home. Looked pretty familiar from a long time ago. A roomie of mine had one just a few years older back when it was brand new. Looks awful clean. He's moving out of state and wants to sell. If you can't make out the sign, it's a '76 CB 550 K. He's...

    YFO 2023 - Gauging interest

Yeah, huh? I double checked the date of your post to see if I'd opened up an old thread by accident. Good to see you here, Bob.

    Chrome-plating Source?

Don, if you're up this way, there's a chrome plating place right near Clearwater Lights. Probably not a "while you wait" kind of a deal, though.

    Riding my dog

PM "Marcusaurelius" about this. Or just search for his posts. Long-time dog transporter around here. First Duke, now Duchess. He cut an opening in a standard FJR side case, added some kind of Sopwith Camel windscreen, and gave the dogs some Barney Oldfield goggles. I haven't met Duchess...

Danish motorcycle fart detector, EU emmision standards

And the only names on the list are Hansel and Gretel. You also have to use danish oil in your motorcycle. I kind of like the noise meters though. Probably ok for FJR's.

    Oh oh, He's Back...

Good to see you back and still riding. Congrats to Jack--remember him from Montrose too. Great area and great riding around Moab, the new place and the view look gorgeous. Life is good.

    Wind Roar

I know a lot of us have tried a few--or a lot--of windscreens, searching for that elusive quiet pocked of air, but I think you'd be nuts to send the CalSci back untried. I know a lot of research on aerodynamics of the wind flow were done in developing those screens (I've had 3 CalSci's). Mine...

Careful what you ask Santa for.

he shot the kid for bad grammar. It's "AN" electric motorcycle.

    New Bike Choice

No SOUL?? Can't agree. My first one had me in the first thousand rpm's. But I do reluctantly sometimes think about what next? What can I give up? That power? The weather protection? Storage and cargo space? Boy, I dunno. Good discussion, though.

    May 2022 ride plan..

Oh, the midges! If they make those screen hats that are tight enough to keep out midges, which are the size of a hydrogen atom, get one. Plus the spray. Worst thing ever. I liked Scotland anyway though. And the roads are JUST wide enough for a motorcycle! I'm a little jealous, Bob. Good luck.
