Helmets - looking for a new one

I purchased a Lazer Monaco Carbon modular helmet a several months back from Revzilla and really like it. The carbon fibers are pretty much sold out but the composite version is available. Photochromic shield is great, light weight, vents well, reasonably quiet, comfy for my mildly oval head...

    Which seats ?

Just returned from a trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. After the first day of 8hrs in the saddle I was hugging my Laam seat. Didn't realize how good it was until I was sitting in the camp chair sipping a soda and realized my butt didn't hurt! In my mind, you know you've got a good seat...

Sad news . . . the death of B.B. (Blues Boy) King.

I saw B.B. at the waterfront series of concerts on the Seattle waterfront, right on the pier about 6 years ago. I'd never seen him live and was expecting to be entertained by someone way past their prime, reminding me of how great the legend once was. Boy, was I wrong! At 80+, B.B. still had...

    Summer gloves

I bought Racer High Ends on your recommendation and love 'em. Got some Racer Roxy's for summer use from STG. Most comfortable glove I've ever had and they breathe nicely. I have big hands and got XXXL. I think they still have them on closeout for $19.95 in that size.

Cruise control options - Mechanical Lock, gen II

I have Omni Cruise, similar to Go Cruise, made of aluminum and has adjustable tension. Easy to use. Not very effective at maintaining steady speed. Installed AVCC from Murph's. Works beautifully. Omni Cruise is on the shelf, good for the occasional TBS.

GREAT -- weather, people, food, conversation, bikes, and turnout. Many thanks to Auburnfjr and family for inviting us to their lovely home. Enjoyed seeing all of you. The best part? Saving a piece of pie from the evil clutches of the PIEMAN!

    KrZy8 - Crap, radiator leaking

I used pepper on my WR450 after a meeting with the ground tweaked the radiator and caused a small leak. Won't harm the pump and doesn't clog things up. Never leaked again in 6 years and a few coolant changes. Your leak sounds pretty small could be worth a shot.

    G@& Damn. Battery!

If you can get the bike to start again take a simple DC voltage reading across the battery terminals. If you see less than 14v your charging system may be the culprit.

    Lowered Footpegs

I put them on my Gen1. In addition to lowering the peg, they moved my feet out far enough to bug me. Had to pigeon toe to shift and brake. I took 'em off. James, I see you're in Snohomish. I'm just down the road in Duvall. You're welcome to try them out and see if you like them, they only take...

Mexico Adventure - What a Mother

Enjoyed the report,Jim. Even though the weather didn't cooperate you still had an adventure. Hell,if it was too easy it might not have been as memorable. Not a bad way to say adios to off roading. I also have spent a lot of time off road,a lot of it in the great Naches area. Sold my WR450 a few...

    Bar risers or no?

6'-1", 32 inseam. I have Helibar risers on top of the MV riser plate, bars adjusted all the way back on the plate. Pinched nerve in my neck doesn't play well with a forward leaning posture. This mod saved the day for me. Combined with the Laam seat I can ride for many hours. No risers gave me a...

    Rick Mayer Seats?

My experience with Seth was exemplary. Sent the seat back for minor adjustment, was done in a week and Seth paid the shipping to my door. I love the seat and the price was very nice. This thread is about Rick Mayer and his antics, they've been going on for a long time from what I've seen.

    Pushed off highway today

Makes me wonder how the highly trained NW driver/cell phone jockey will handle lane splitting if enacted here. More and more I see people making desperate maneuvers to make their turn / exit rather than safely take the next exit or turn. I don't commute often. I choose not to compete with folks...
