    PNW Spring Tech Meet #12

Big thanks to Bryan and family for a great day! First event for me , it was really nice to put faces to familiar forum names. What an outstanding group! New friends, FJRs, good food and entertainment provided by one challenging driveway. Doesn't get much better. Can't wait for the next one.

Oil Change Debacle with Drain Plug?

Those little pieces of metal are the threads out of the oil pan. No bolt is going back in there to stay. 31 ft/lb is too much for the drain plug. Looks like a repair insert is in your future. Sorry

    Racer gloves $24.95 @ STG

Hey Joe, I took advantage of the same Black Friday sale. I heard about it from you! That's how I know I like the Racer High End. A little late, but thanks! Picked up another pair of High Ends plus a few others. Hell, if I don't like 'em I can use 'em as kneepads in the garage. Chuck, a sweet...

    Interesting sales encounter

In 2012 I was looking at a used GenI at Adventure Motorsports. Test ride no problem. Asked about the differences between it and a new '12. He rolled out a new '12, 0 miles. Handed me the key and said to take 'er for a spin, which I did, first one up then 2 up. I bought the superior GenI with...

    Dad

Goodman, thanks for your sentiments. Some of my Dad's flaws have been huge, my family life growing up was rocky for me and my sibs. It took me a long time to realize that after all is said and done, my Dad was just a man not a superhero. The issues I struggled with as a young man paled in...

    Dad

You're right, I am lucky. I truly am sorry for your loss. My Dad bought a new Olds 442 in '64, I was 10 years old. He used to take me with him to rip around sometimes. Funny, I was with him once when he raced a factory supercharged '57 Studebaker Golden Hawk. Dad waxed him!

Gary, this is something I've heard my Dad say about his Dad. I'm going to talk with my Dad until he tells me to knock it off.

    Dad

'Zilla, you would like my Dad a lot. Most that have met him, do. It's good to hear from this side of you. Today I saw a picture of him, 40 something, standing in his riding suit next to a Vincent HRD. He really was, and is a really cool guy!

    Dad

Mr. Redfish Hunter, since I have been a member of this forum I have admired your obvious devotion to your Dad. I always look forward to your posts regarding your adventures with Pop. I'm envious when I read that you wash and maintain the FJR for him. I wish I was having that experience. My Dad...

    Dad

The man that gifted me with a love for motorcycling, that taught me to never give up, that has been there for me as a parent, companion and example of a good though flawed man, has been diagnosed with Lewey Body disease. Lewey Body disease is a form of dementia that combines the symptoms of...

    Tire Air Question

I live in the great Pacific Northwet where the weather varies greatly and humidity can be quite high. For these reasons I change the air in my tires after every ride. Keeps inner rim corrosion at bay and and old air is just so, well uh.......used. Besides, you know what they say about fresh air...

Help with the The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

You can consider this system stone age, but if a hamfisted caveman hadn't been rooting around in there the little boot would have remained in place and all would have been well. Cold idle speed ~ 22-2300. Since you mentioned it, I did start the engine this AM with Carbtune attached and watched...
