4th annual Clearwater LED Lights Group Buy: March 14th - March 31st 2015

Erica2's on the way to me. Jolin really twisted my arm. OK, actually she was really very nice and put up with me. I have been meaning to pull the trigger on Clearwaters ever since I got my 2006. I suppose I was just waiting for the latest upgrade. I really wanted the Sevina's but just...

Clearwater LED Lights: Group Buy 2015 Interest?

Oh my goodness. I haven't been on the Forum for a while, but tripped onto it today. I was just thinking it would be great to see a group buy on Clearwaters, not that I can afford that. But here it is. And I got momentarily dizzy and called Clearwater and spoke with Jolyn (sp?) and before I...

    Shorai battery install

I have been running the Shorai for 2 1/2 years now with no "balance" issues. I think You need to look elsewhere. As far as battery performance goes, it has been great. You do need to warm the battery up when it is cold, but all that means is crank the starter. If it doesn't start right away...

    NAFO Thursday Nite Dinner

Ok, I am hoping to be there Thursday. I say hoping because I don't think I have ever made it on a Thursday. I'll be looking for Diggers. Mr.paul

    My new ride, 2014 ES

Must...resist...the...force..... Told myself for years that if they ever got smart and made a candy red one, I would have to find a way. I love the color blue of my '06, but that red....well, thank goodness I don't have the funds now and my bike is fine. That red is just sooo nice. And the...

How hot are your factory heated grips?

Just my experience. I have original factory heated grips on my '06. They have never been "hot" but get reasonably warm. The right has always been cooler than the left (I assumed because you have to keep a grip on the throttle). They have been very nice to have but were never as hot as the...

Musings of an aging FJR rider

Well, I know I am way late to this thread, but want to add this to all the others. God help us all if we have to stay with every decision we have ever made in the past, especially when we were young. And different bikes are for different "seasons" and situations. It is great that we have...

    CFO Home Safe Thread

Home with no problems. Rick was right. The clouds hanging low over the hills was very cool. Because I was heading away from the storm, I declare the whole weekend about the best weather ever. Way to go Rick, or whoever he put in charge of weather control. Thanks again to those that made the...

CFO Web Site and Registration are OPEN

Wow, I actually registered a few weeks ahead again. Some would say I am learning not to put things off, but I haven't gotten around to that yet... Hope to be heading down Friday morning. I too may be slow and meandering. Looking forward to seeing y'all again. And is the Russian and his...

Pics from my trip to Black Hills

Nice Pics Carlson! The roads are great there. Good you went off season. Love the picture by the unnel. Makes you really wonder how the tour busses make it. As for bombing I-90, I have had mixed results. I have made that trip 3 times on my Feejer. Each time I had a wicked crosswind and one...

    Best replacement battery. 2005 ABS

Forgot to add. I got my Shorai from mishacycles.com for somewhere around 165. About the best I found on the net. Great service too. Mr.paul.

    Best replacement battery. 2005 ABS

Ok, just another 2 cents. I installed the Shorai lithium IRON battery last spring. I got the larger of the 2 batteries listed for my 2006 FJR. I have run it in all kinds of weather and I am so far, calling it a success. The only oddity I can even pull out, is that in weather near freezing, it...

Can you IMAGINE riding this motorbike

Every fashion will be taken to excess at some point. it is part of our nature. I never have understood ape hangers also. But I guess, I don't have to. Just glad that women still believe in the little black dress!

    Aerostich Seattle Experience! May 16 - 20

Funny thing. I usually encourage people to ride to Duluth and check out the store. Very humble and un assuming place full of very nice people willing to help with some of the best gear out there. And there is a 10% discount on everything at the store. If they don't have it and need to ship...

Upgrading from a Gen II to a Gen III FJR... worth it?

I think the idea of keeping the current FJR and adding to the stable is the better choice. And you are smart thinking Victory. Very well done in their genre. I always thought that a guy should have 5 bikes to cover everything. The FJR of course. That would be the do-all street bike that IS...

    Under Seat Storage Compartments

Ulock? I thought nobody steals sport touring bikes. Under my seat , I find those rubber bands are great for holding my Tire Plugger kit and compressor, a power block, the tool kit, a package of rope, some odds and ends tools, electrical tape, duct tape, and probably a number of other things...

    Periodic winter start ups ?

The scientists say to not start it unless you intend to fully warm it up. No need to add condensation and additional heat cycles to it. The psycholigists say, sometimes you've just got to hear her purr........... mr.paul, generally resisting winter starts for yet another year.

OK. I just plugged the date into my calendar. Let's see if I can make it this year! Lookinhg fforward to it. I vote for brats and burgers too! But to correct someone from earlier, yes you can cook a Papa Murphy's on the grill. https://www.papamurphys.com/pdf/grillInstructions.pdf Keep us...
