Thanks Archer for the info. thought that looked better than the other routes so probably will head for that one. And add a few side trips to parks, views and such.

Road trips to Seattle from near Niagara Falls area, any one have preferred routes ?

Looking more like that Highway 2 is sounding better each day as things are warming up! Looks like I'll be heading out next Monday, thanks again for the info. Looking like rain next Monday and Tuesday so may hold back a day and see if it clears up, I don't mind riding in the rain but hate to...

Road trips to Seattle from near Niagara Falls area, any one have preferred routes ?

Yes I had planed to make the return trip up through Canada, was a little worried if all would be fixed up in the centre areas that had all the recent flooding and roads washed out and lots of damage! That's why I changed my out route to riding through the northern States, I'll be checking...

Road trips to Seattle from near Niagara Falls area, any one have preferred routes ?

Thanks I'll check them out, like a nice map to plan from and then just add the plan in short section to the old gps, seems to work for me been lost a good few times but nearly always find nice back roads to ride and nice places to view!

Road trips to Seattle from near Niagara Falls area, any one have preferred routes ?

Thanks for the advice on skipping the main interstate Hyways like I-90 like the look of highway 2 and taking side trips of to view some of the parks and interesting roads. I've tried not to limit my time so can keep flexible on where to do stop overs if I find good spots. Thanks for your input...

Road trips to Seattle from near Niagara Falls area, any one have preferred routes ?

Thanks for the info and the advice to stay away from interstates, I normally stay off them unless I hit bad weather and then just use them to cover off miles to next planed stop. I'll check my maps and see how close that is to the more northern roads I had marked off.

Road trips to Seattle from near Niagara Falls area, any one have preferred routes ?

I'm planning on heading out west in a couple of weeks from the Niagara Falls area, thought I'd try to go south of Lake Erie and around the bottom of Lake Michigan then maybe up towards Hyway 2 around Duluth and follow it over west. Or could follow Hyway 90 across and visit Yellowstone park on...

Hi Tom, welcome to the FJ forum site you'll find lots of help and interesting posts on tech fixes and meetings across North America. I'm a little south of you at the other end of Lake Ontario in Vineland, and like you I found a nice FJ 2007AE with low kl. on it. Put a good few Kl. on it but have...

    Throttle sensor on 2007 FJR1300AE

Thanks, that's correct it has heated grips and is the AE auto clutch unit. I now feel dumb, never gave it a thought about the heater circuit I was just concentrating on the throttle and was thinking about that! Duh! Thanks, I'll now carry on with installing the throttle mod and see if it'll make...

    Throttle sensor on 2007 FJR1300AE

I recently purchased a handle bar cable twist unit that has a smoother ramp design, supposed to give more slow speed take off. It's listed for the FJR so thought it would be an easy exchange to install it. Not so I didn't know the OE on the bike has a sensor wire running through the clamp...

Interested in a 2006 AE but scared of potential issues

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try when the FJ comes out from winter hibernation. The added section I mounted to the bottom has worked good for me but I have on occasion pressed the horn button by mistake!

Interested in a 2006 AE but scared of potential issues

I agree dragging the rear brake helps in slow U turns. Love the auto clutch on my 2007 FJR1300AE. Have 56,600Kl on it now and other than regular maintenance items no issues. I added a round plastic disc on the bottom off the bar electronic gear shift as on long twisty rides my thumb was aching...

    Earplugs: just me?

I use Bose noise cancelling ear buds and although a little awkward to get them under my Arai Sygnet full face helmet they are comfortable and work well. On your note about being able to adjust the noise level my units don’t it’s either on or off, they do now sell Bluetooth adjustable out side...

    erabuds/ear plugs?

I use Bose noise cancelling ear buds, work great but expensive! They will hook up to most types of music or phone units if required but block out wind and other noise. Mine are the wired type but I believe they now have Bluetooth type out.

    New Rotella Product?

Thanks for the info McRuss, think I’ll be using it the next oil change and from now on. I to have been enjoying the clutchless FJR for this last year, bought it to see if it would extend my riding years as I was having issues with arthritis in my hands so was getting painful on long rides and...
