    Unusual Backrests

It looks like there are grooves in the far peg that would be found on a car headrest. Maybe they are from a car! :o

    Planning an Early Summer Ride

Rt50 in WVa is a nice road for a two up ride. I don't know about west of interstate79 but the east side is nicely paved and a great ride. From Rt50 you can get on Rt220 which will take you north all the way to New York. Also nice 2up ride. Have fun!

    2009 Ohio Ramble-Official Tour Thread

Count me in. As it stands, I will be up for dinner on Friday, Sat events, heading home Sun. I might be able to come up on Thursday if I can get out of work early. So definitely plan on staying at the hotel for the 5, and 6th. I would prefer to share a room. Looking forward to finally meeting...

    Next EOM?

So RickyRey, Are you the one I keep seeing turning onto Drainsville Rd at lunchtime, and heading west from Drainsville in the afternoon??? I keep seeing an O7. Well before all this ice crap started falling. If there are more people around here going to EOM we should make a group of...

The Recall Ignition Switch - What's new about it?

Thank you Brodie! Wonderful job on the relay fix and new switch breakdown. I might be out your way in Sept. If I am going nearby, I will certainly contribute to the Brodie beverage buy. And just think, if everyone here bought you a beverage for this job you could drink free for a while. :D

Poll: Ramble Location for June 2009

I have the agree on the weekend options. I can take more trips during the year by taking 3 day weekends. Trips during the week are pretty muck non-existent with me, unfortunately. Maybe a second poll is in order, for those that can attend on weekends or weekdays. Then take the majority vote...

    New Member from KY

welcome, from N Va. If you're ever in the area send a Pm. Great roads around here in western Va & WV. Last year I rode my Vstar 1100 on some weekend trips with some sportbike buddies of mine. I got tired of dragging pegs trying to keep up, and ditched the Vstar for my o8 Feej. The next trip...

    N Va to Cali and back 9/12 - 10/1

Thanks for the input bugnatr! Nice to hear we have a chance of some decent riding. Although, it seems most of our rides last year involved at least a day of rain. :angry2: What luck! I will probably going solo up the coast, so hopefully the weather will be good and cover a little distance...

    26k valve check

I guess I should have mentioned, I'm taking that with a grain of salt. I watch the fuel economy as a general rule for engine health. The performance should change a little before the starting issues, and I am thinking I will notice by feel, or sound, when it needs a little more tlc. Worked on...

    26k valve check

The tech at the dealer I bought mine from told me not to bother with the valve check, if it starts fine in the morning. When it starts taking longer to start in the morning, or after sitting awhile, then it is time to get the valves checked. "Just keep the oil changed and ride the thing", was my...

    N Va to Cali and back 9/12 - 10/1

Yeah, I agree. My family went on a trip when i was 13, for a month and a half, and there was so many places we didn't see. And i do plan on spending sometime online with the state sites. And, as far as Vegas goes, i'm am going to keep my wallet in my pocket, but fortunately I know someone in...

    N Va to Cali and back 9/12 - 10/1

Thanks for the info. taking notes Yeah, the trip out is going to be , Uh, brisk ,to say the least. There are two other potential riders that may go, and we all have proven we could cover some miles quick if need be. The nice thing is, on a Fjr, I can take a break while they're gassing up at...

    N Va to Cali and back 9/12 - 10/1

A friend of mine has a wedding to attend to in southern Cali on Sept 16th. We have been itching for a ride longer than 4 days, so I made the suggestion of riding out and making it more interesting. Can't believe he didn't think of it. Any way we are going to start planning the route here soon...

skyline drive from Philadelphia area- recommendation?

Sorry, got a little busy the last few days. Not sure how much ground you want to cover, and exactly the type of roads you or your Hd buddies normally travel, so here's one suggestion: ( and of course, there may be a better route through Md to these roads, but I won't suggest roads I haven't...

Poll: Ramble Location for June 2009

I'm interested. I need to start meeting some of the Fjr group. I would prefer Lazy Lane, if i could share with someone.(I am house trained  ) But it's more about the people than the ride, so I'm flexible on the accomodations. I have to keep the spending in check though, could not...

skyline drive from Philadelphia area- recommendation?

Can't help you much with Md or Pa but possibly give some suggestions for Va. How far down Skyline do you plan on riding. Going is slow on that road. (speed limit 35, Strictly enforced!!) Day trip, or weekend? Rt15 or 522 on either side of Chambersburg will get you down there. Rt 522 takes you...

    Gen II Luggage Racks

Just installed my rack today. As said before, Great work, a cinch to install, and looks like it was meant to be there. It is a great add on for those with the stock shelf only on their GenII's. If you want one, you will not be disappointed. Thank you again, Gary.
