    Final Gear Oil Question

I have a quart of Bel-Ray 80W-90 gear oil left over from a previous bike I had and I was wondering if I could use the Bel-Ray gear oil in the FJR final gear case without problems? I see that Mobil 1, 75W-90 and even 75W-140 have been discussed before. Is there a big difference between 80W and...

    Flash to Pass

...while on the cell phone the entire time.) So it's okay to talk on the cell phone (w/o hands free), but it's considered road rage to flash your lights to get someone's attention? I guess headlight modulators are completely forbidden then. Although they're supposedly legal in all 50 states...

    Flash to Pass

Oh, yea! Duh! Guess I was looking at the switches too much to notice. I'm used to my clutch, not the AE bikes. Thanks!

    F*c%ing Weather!

Ya, that's supposed to arrive here in MN later today/tonight/tomorrow. The whole world's experiencing global warming -- just not here in the frozen vortex, AKA: Minnesnooooota. FJJ'sR

    Excellent Bako Area Ride

Having grown up in Bakersfield (BHS grad '77) I know exactly where you're talking about. That's quite a twisty road up the Kern Canyon. I can remember that road before the upper section was redone and widened. Did several trips up there to enjoy the wildflowers. They were especially spectacular...

    Loctite vs. nail polish

If you're particular to red (nailpolish), then use the red Loctite. It'll last longer and you'll never have to worry about those screws loosening up again. Use blue Loctite if you think you'll ever want to take the screws out again -- it's removable. Red isn't as easy to undo -- if not...

Cheap ass frame sliders - delrin

I just bought some from Supply-N-Demand on ebay for $15.50 (+$8.75 shp'g). I would consider them tip over protectors rather than frame sliders though. I don't know how much protection they would offer in a moving drop. I bought the extended version -- they're about 4" long. FJJ'sR

    F*c%ing Weather!

Waiting for spring here in Minnesota. Possibly by May? Then wait for all the sand on the roads to clear off. Gawd, I hate waiting and not riding half the year. Still waiting! FJJ'sR

    improve on Vstream effectiveness

It it came in clear I'd be willing to try it on my Vstream. But IMHO it's ugly in the black. Like putting big thick black framed glasses on my bike. :nerdsmiley: Yuck! Function (possibly) without fashion (definitely). Just my .2 worth. FJJ'sR

Leaving the Dealer with my new FJR, I was struck by an………..

Welcome! I used to live in Marietta, GA. Good luck with the drivers in GA. I've never experienced such bad drivers. I wanted to ride so bad when I lived there, with the Blue Ridge mountains so close, but chose not to due to the drivers. Good luck, ride safe and great deal on the FJR. FJJ'sR

The Five Faces of my FJR.......

WW, I noticed you said that you have Supply-N-Demand frame sliders. Do they have inserts (aluminum collars) inside the Delrin material? I noticed on eBay that they're $15.50 and state that they can't be torqued past 25 ft/lbs (although torque specs for frame bolts is 35 ft/lbs) and require...
