    2014ES or 2016A?

This is turning into a lopsided contest! Now I'm running out of excuses for continuing to sit on the fence....

    2014ES or 2016A?

Its only the ES model that gets the LED lighting and directional lights, right? I guess I could look that up on the Yamaha site.... Edit - so I looked it up - seems like from '16 on all the lights are LED, but the directional lights are only on the ES. And I think heated grips are standard...

    2014ES or 2016A?

So I'm looking at my '08 with the hood up, and me procrastinating about digging into the AVCC to find out why its gone t**'s up. And out there are now a lot of used Gen 3 models for sale so I'm perusing Craigslist and others and have found these two bikes for sale in California and I'm curious...

Anyone know this bike in LA/E. Long Beach?

There is no problem running a CA model in any other state so its completely a non-issue. Its only the other way around that is tricky and even then its only on sub-7500 mile bikes that it matters....

My dad was killed in a motorcycle accident 07/29

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, and also grateful for the time and feeling you put into your message for all of us. One of the most valuable lessons I have learned over the years visiting these forums came from a post on the ZX6R forum from a dad who took the time to post a very personal...

Yosemite & Beyond - Risk Factor Style!

Those A-6's at Whidbey Island NAS are gonna make me tear up. I spent 4 years as a bombardier/navigator in VA-85 flying out of Oceana. Great plane, took me in and out of harms way many times during Desert Storm. Thanks for including them in your photo story. - they're kind of forgotten in the...

3rd Gen ES Suspension Problems Poll

That sounds like a more fitting response in a different kind of forum Or maybe something BeemerDons would have said after too much Jameson's!

    Here I Go Again...

Awesome, just awesome! I'm doubly impressed by the "reporting from the road" aspect. I'm lucky if I can remember anything by the time I get back from a lengthy trip, but don't know how to use an iphone quickly and easily (hate typing on that damn thing!) Enjoy the trip - I'm extremely jealous

What Generation are 2016 and 2017 FJRs? (Run-Off)

Out of curiosity I looked in BikeBandit's OEM part finder and looked up the nomenclature for the FJR lineage. Without listing every permutation (AE, ES, 49 state, CA, etc....), here is what they show for the standard A model (49 state) between '08 and '16 (no listing for '17 yet except for ES...

Illegal to have things protruding from your helmet?

Whatever happened to Skully? Seems like that's what we really need. Oh yeah - they closed up shop after lifting a lot of money from Kickstarter backers...

FJRForum Official 2017 Iron Butt Rally Tracking/Analysis Thread

Sorry to hear about the trench foot (seriously, trench foot?). But your comment reminds me of a guy by the name of Walter Colebatch on ADVRider. He's a legend for traversing Siberia and Mongolia on rally bikes on really crappy trails and he is a true believer in non-waterproof boots for the...

2016 FJR 1300 ES for sale

Don't tell RenoJohn about your conclusions. He's pretty convinced that Gen 3's are too big and heavy to have any fun on, or do well in the IBR for that matter......

    Reuben Run 6

Hey FJRay - is it true that 97 has had its speed limits increased? I read somewhere that several highways in Oregon have been added to the list of 1,000,000 other highways in the country that have speed limits set above a snail's pace of 55 mph. Could you confirm or deny?

    Northern California Riders

I just heard from a guy at work that Oregon has opened up some speed limits including 97 from Klamath Falls to Bend. Should make that stretch a little less painful... Right now I'm a maybe for the RR - may be headed to Moab for some dual sporting

I have to agree with previous posters regarding the change of terms that can affect every aspect of life on the internet. Though the current discussion is about PB, SmugMug has gone through the same thing already. I used SmugMug at one point as part of a small (and eventually closed)...

The Motorcycle Industry is Dying - Bloomberg

Yikes! That's a pretty pessimistic turn of discussion on this thread about the motorcycle industry..... But I suppose the last sentence is true for all of us :(

The Motorcycle Industry is Dying - Bloomberg

Its really interesting regarding the piece on Fox News and Honda CB's from the 70's being the number 1 interest for milennials. One of my wife's cousins is about 30, and he talked to me on the 4th of July about getting a bike. Not anything new mind you, but a retro, probably a CB350! I didn't...

It's fun to watch the centipede right now closing in on the final point. Something like 10 already in the barn, and maybe another 25 within the next hour or so? Unless of course someone's out hunting another bonus string! I guess we'll know a lot by tomorrow morning, but I think we'll all be...
