Gen II ECU reflash by Ivan

Hi Ivan!  I've had your flashed ECUs in two bikes so far - my late great FZ1 (totaled in 2014 :(  ) and my 2014 Ninja 1000.  I considered them both the best modifications I had done to either of those bikes.  I'm not sure how much longer I'm gonna keep my '08 FJR but if I ever decide to...

    Rendezvous at Red Lodge 2020 June 25th - 28th, 2020 - It's a Wrap!

Previously I had mentioned that we might have an extra bed, but as of now Doug and I have picked up a 3rd so that bed is now spoken for.  Looking forward to seeing everyone (who's got the cajones (or equivalent) to make it :) )

    Back in my days ....

The beer aisle at the local Safeway seemed well stocked, unlike the TP row which was 100% empty.  MIght be wise to keep your consumption slow and steady rather than a sprint - a case of the beer squirts would be most unwelcome!

    2020 Austin MotoGP postponed

I was crushed by the news :( I've got a big trip planned (see separate post) and MotoGP in Austin was one of the planned highlights but now that's off the table. https://www.fjrforum.com/topic/177398-2020-race-track-adventure-the-no-crowns-tour/?tab=comments#comment-1428453

2020 Race Track Adventure - The No Crowns Tour

This year is going to turn into my bucket list adventure.  As some of you may know, I've been spending a bit of time at the local racetracks here in the Bay Area of California for the last 6 years.  So in concert with my retirement last year, I've decided to hit the road and get to as many...

    Yamaha sucks

They just announced that the American round at COTA has been postponed to November :(    I was planning on being in Austin for the race and now that plan has been demolished....

    Fly and Ride 17 FJR

Great to hear about a new ride for you Jim!   Some of those back roads look interesting shall we say :) Will you still be out and about by the first weekend of April?  I'm going to be in an RV and in Austin for the MotoGP round (assuming it's held of course).  If so give me a shout - it would...

    Yamaha sucks

I think the first 3 to 4 events will be very interesting: 1)     Can Yamaha (any rider) win a race?   They've been fast, especially MV and FQ, but let's see if they can win. 2)     Can Rins repeat his successes from last year?  (an inline 4 can win! - twice last season, just not our brand)...

    Rendezvous at Red Lodge 2020 June 25th - 28th, 2020 - It's a Wrap!

Just as a reminder John, I'm in and have booked a room at the Inn.  I took one of the two room suites and am gonna share it with Bug unless something comes along to mess up one or more of our schedules.  I'm not familiar with the details of the rooms though - would there be room on a sofa bed in...

    Because WE can Ride

Well, we had an un- intended curveball thrown at us today in Orcutt.  The fire alarm went off at the Far Western Tavern and the party had to move elsewhere which threw off some folks' timing.  I suspect the alarm went off when the CBA president took off his jacket which could have represented a...

    Because WE can Ride

I'm in Doug - wanna meet up somewhere along the route?  Maybe along 25 somewhere?

    Going to California

Of course Bug is a great guy for riding advice in this neck of the woods 😁 But sorry you missed out on YFO Jim.  We rode most of those same roads (4, 108, 89, 120, etc...) just a few weeks ago.   The road conditions are just about perfect right now as you've shown.  I think that all of the...

    YFO 2019 - Sept. 12-14

awesome event everyone!   Thanks Tyler for making all the arrangements - the settlement was a nice little place to meet and hang out, and the weather fully cooperated (I think that wasn't your doing but with your reputation maybe its possible?) Great to renew a lot of acquaintances and make...

    Long Way Up

I worked the Sturgis rally for Harley and the response to the Live Wire was universally positive.  Now the range issue is something else to be managed.   How about a gas powered generator in the chase truck?  Depending on how they ride, they'd still have to stop every 2-3 hours for an hour or...

    YFO 2019 - Sept. 12-14

Hey all - I'm planning on camping in Tuolumne Meadows campground on Thursday night before heading down to Bridgeport on Friday morning.  I'll probably get there be early/mid afternoon.  If anyone else is planning on being up there on Thursday let me know so I can look out for you. :)
