    Is a wreck inevitable?

Annual percentage wise, I believe I read bike accidents are in the increase. Not surprising considering more and more people having more expendable income equating to more people buying bikes which continuously become more powerful, and the technology of speed out-pacing rider skill levels...

    Rode an FJR today

What's all the fuss about? Simple. Some people just like to nit-pick everything to death. Sure the Gen I's had a couple of issues, but I have to laugh when I read the throttle springs are too stiff, or the windscreen buffets us a bit. Jeeze, what have we become? :unknw: Complaining...

Rented an 05 today - need advice on second gen

I've owned a Gen1 ('05) and now own a GenII ('07). Here's my 2 cents... You're right about the heat with the GenI's. Temp's over 90 and high humidity levels will make you beg for an ice pack for your crotch, especially riding 2 up. GenII heat is barely noticeable. On my '07 I feel a slight...

What do your friends think of your AE?

I read somewhere 7 A's sell for every 1 AE. I'm not sure if that's an availability thing, Yamaha trying to break new ice, or what. I had a chance to buy the AE, but it wasn't me. But something is wrong here. Why aren't owners of A models writing posts wondering what AE owners think?! We...

    Getting Back On The Road

I think that's fantastic! Especially considering you're not the original owner of the '04. I'll definitely have to keep that dealer in mind when service time comes around. They sound great! :)

Burgman 400 to FJR 1300AE …. Leap of Faith??

Brad, If you decide to sell your Bergman 400, please let me know. I'm looking for one. Thanks, SR-71 PM: [email protected]

    FJR purchase

My '05 was a cooker too. I swapped it for an '07. No more cookin'! :yahoo:

Burgman 400 to FJR 1300AE …. Leap of Faith??

I ride with a good friend who owns nearly the same scooter that you have, a 400cc Yamaha. Whenever I give him the opportunity he jumps on my FJR and loves it! I've ridden his scooter and I've owned two FJR's ('05 and '07). Since I have a little experience with both types of machines, here's...

    Well I'm Trying

I like that Cruiser lever. What was involved in the installation of that farkle? I added a Monokey E52 box on my '07, along with Wild Bill Highway Pegs (these are a must!).

Changing Gears without using the clutch

I aways use the clutch. Not that big of a deal to me. But I'm curious. For those of you who don't use the clutch (much), do you notice a lot of metal particles in the oil? I would imagine that would have to wear on the gears a bit more.

buying sight unseen, shipping across country

Road will soon be closed to motorcycle traffic? Ok, you've got me curious now! Where are you located, Anchorage? As for shipping it. All I know is, most shipping companies require the fuel tank be empty. I shipped a crated bike from LA to VA. If I remember right the cost was about $400. SR-71

O.M.G., FJR is near match to Hayabusa performance?

Ah... the H2! Now that brings back memories of the 70's! I seem to remember the stock H2 only had about 73hp, but it also had a 40/60% weight distribution which meant the front wheel could be lofted skyward effortlessly (even in turns, which I found out once). I loved that crazy, blue smokin'...

If you fell bad about dropping yours

The terms "dropped" and "went down" are two different things. This bike went "down" - hence the scrapes. Sometimes to live and learn..., gets expensive! SR-71 "There are old pilots and bold pilots, but [unfortunately] there's very few old, bold pilots."

Launching the FJR off the Dragon !!

Glad you're ok Mike. Sounds like quite an experience, and one you probably don't need to repeat! That's amazing your FJR didn't sustain more damage. If you get a chance post some pictures of it. Can someone fill me in on the Dragon? I've never been there, but have heard a lot about it and...

O.M.G., FJR is near match to Hayabusa performance?

I currently own both. Make no mistake about it, these are two totally different machines; from both a performance, riding, and comfort standpoint. Performance: Maybe here's the best way to put it... I've grown used to occasionally pinning the throttle on my FJR's (I've owned two). FJR...

    November MotorCyclist has sport/touring camparo

After dealing with the heat of a Gen1 FJR for a couple of years, then to get away from that heat by recently upgrading to a Gen2; when I heard the C-14 was a heat blower, there was no way I'd consider buying it. Being Sport-Touring machines, in my opinion, rider heat should be made a larger...

Thanks For All The Good Info

Performance... my Busa picks up where my FJR trails off. It's a rush a second, ain't it?!

    Busa and a FJR?

I believe my Busa handles better than my FJR; not that the FJR handles poorly, but my confidence level in high speed turns is higher on the Busa. Perhaps it's just the 100 lb weight difference. I've gotten used to the performance of my FJR (nice), but my Busa still scares the !#$!%&* out of me...

    Busa and a FJR?

Just curious. Am I the only one that owns a FJR and a Hayabusa?
