    ST2 turn cancelling question

The STS2 power line is only used to run the unit’s circuitry, it is not used to power the turn signal lights. STS2 requires very little power (I read somewhere that it only uses 250 mW). So, a 0.5 A fuse should be more than enough. The package doesn’t come with a fuse at all, it is supposed to...

What year Goldwing foot peg will fit 2023 FJR (with slight modification)? For rider foot peg, not passenger.

The reason why I swapped my FJR foot pegs to GW ones is because I wanted an increase in the peg’s surface area. After several days of riding in a row, I was moving my foot on the pegs to different places to relieve the aching in my arches. The FJR’s pegs are relatively narrow compared to the...

What year Goldwing foot peg will fit 2023 FJR (with slight modification)? For rider foot peg, not passenger.

Last year I swapped my pegs to the aftermarket GW ones too. They didn’t come with “feelers”, so I made a set from stainless steel screws and acorn nuts. I also had to grind off a little material from outside of the pivot brackets so that they fit between the FJR’s mounting brackets. I like the...

    Wrist pain after 3 hours

One more thing to check in your setup is that the brake and clutch levers are properly positioned. When you reach for the levers your fingers should be perfectly in line with your arms. You should not have a bend in your wrist (up or down) to reach for or when pulling on the levers.

Hello - new member with Eastern Beaver PC8 Fuse block question

@ecc1124 , I don’t have that harness from EB, but from what I see on his website is that the “black and white snap terminals” you are referring to (with blue arrows on the pic) are fuse receptacles. One for the switched and the other is for the unswitched main lines to the battery. Isn’t the...

No Longer Wanted Laminar lip gen 2

I have a tinted one that I removed from the ‘06 I bought a couple of years ago. It is in very good condition. I don’t have the windshield-side velcro discs though. PM me if you are interested.

    ABS brake issues

I was referring to the switches that close the circuit to turn on the brake lights when you apply the front and/or rear brakes. I am not sure if they do more than just engage the brake lights, but if they are also part of the ABS then they might be something to check. Again, you mentioned that...

    ABS brake issues

This may be an odd suggestion, but is it possible that either the front or rear brake engagement switches are stuck or shorted? You mentioned that the wheels roll freely when the bike is off, but not when running. This indicates an electronic issue to me, because the rest of the system operates...

Wiring for Trickle Charger and Auxiliary Power

I have been working on a similar setup for my bike for the past couple of weeks, but this setup will work with a small jump starter instead which I will carry with me (and keep charged). The 10 AWG wire with the O-ring connector will be mounted to the battery, and the blue EC-5 connector will...

    E15 / Unleaded 88 in 2008 FJR1300

To locate the CCT, lift up the front of the tank, then look down behind the engine on the right side next to the frame. The link here will show you the CCT: Thread 'Well crap, no green dot CCT (2008)' https://www.fjrforum.com/threads/well-crap-no-green-dot-cct-2008.180887/ The dot you need to...

    Bike Wont Start

The photos posted by the OP show that the buildup is mostly on the intake side of the cylinders The exhaust side of the head and valves look relatively clean. RossKean brought up a good point about the possibility of oil in the airbox. It could provide an explanation to some of the symptoms.

    Bike Wont Start

All ideas mentioned in the previous three posts are possibilities, but carbon builds up over time, and as others suggested, there would have been noticeable warning sins of it happening, and not a sudden failure of all 4 cylinders. The “valves stuck open’ explanation from the dealer after the...

    Bike Wont Start

Thinkingofone, I am doing as well as I can, trying to keep a positive attitude. I find the reasoning the dealer gave you hard to believe, but you are right: at this point you don’t have many options to choose from. I hope that the issue will get resolved in your favor soon! I wish all the best...

    Turn signal cancellation mechanism?

There is a recent thread on one of the solutions: Thread 'STS Turn Signal Harness for Gen 3 FJR1300' https://www.fjrforum.com/threads/sts-turn-signal-harness-for-gen-3-fjr1300.178823/

    Bike Wont Start

I would be upset in your shoes too @thinkingofone. Mostly because of what the dealer is telling you: the ‘compression was between 35-44psi’ AND ‘the valves were stuck open’. Did they explain how they managed to get any compression at all? Did they offer some kind proof or for you to come in and...

STS Turn Signal Harness for Gen 3 FJR1300

@richardsutton I am sure that you will really like the STS module on your bike. You did a nice job! It looks like a lot of research and time went into your project. About the pin connections: yes, doing them manually is a PITA, but even an inexpensive crimper would have made the job much easier...
