I moved the handlebars AWAY from me. This resulted in less bend of my wrists while riding. MV-Motorrad barbacks is the lift kit that was already on the bike when I purchased it.

Even though my FJR came with the MV_Motorrad barbacks, I found that the position of the handlebars was too far back. I adjusted the handlebars to a more forward position, and my wrists have been much happier ever since. YMMV

I used these clamps to install the Rivco pegs: Kuryakyn Magnum Quick Clamps, 1", Gloss Black They were too large, so I shimmed them with some industrial strength double-stick tape. They tended to slip, so I drilled a hole on the outboard side of the clamp and added a short bolt that went into...

I mounted the Rivco pegs like this so that I can rest my heel on the bumper when in the "extended" leg position:

As a matter of fact, YES IT IS!! I had to add a few washers under the most rearward bumpers to shim up the back of the smuggler to clear. In the photo below, it is the 2 bumpers at the top of the image: I can't remember if I had to use longer bolts on those 2 bumpers. Damn Oldtimers, I...
