HID are nice for night and more visible for cagers, but no where near as noticeable as a modulated light in the middle of the day. If I could get a modulated HID I'd buy one in a second.
Sounds like meosborn is talking about the ZX-9's rider since it is a sport bike, where the FJR is a sport-tour bike. You having a bad day, or are you taking anything as a reason to get defensive?
Chill and know a compliment when you see it.
Good thing it didn't happen while running hard in the twisties. Good thing they are fixing it. I would offer you a discount, or store credit for some goodies, if I was the owner.
I don't have much to contribute with the back issues this year.
My 2009 totals are:
FJR: 1663 miles
Busa: 1280 miles
It's a shame. I put over 20,000 on bikes in 2008. My truck battery needed a battery tender so I didn't have to replace it twice. It's taken me over 2 years to pass the 20,000...
Get a Kisan PathBlazer head-light modulator. It doesn't deliver the message as you said "go ahead an pull out in front of me". The message is more like "I might be an emergency vehicle. Get the f*** out of my way!"
I have them on both of my bikes. I haven't had a close call with pull-outs, or...
It's great that you got a lot out of that course. You can also learn a great amount of those skills in an on track course. Both methods are great for advanced riding skills.
At the 2-Fast.org track school they say racers target 2% front brakes when they pass their exit marker for the corner.
As you approach the corner choose your line, start braking with the front to setup your suspension for the corner and decrease throttle, get your body position set. Look...
I might have to try to make this tomorrow morning if it's still on. It looks like it will probably be my last ride this year after talking to my doc today. I'll check back on this thread later tonight.
Ray< Take care of that. It's great you got to the hospital quickly. Many people aren't as lucky. My Mom had a "small stroke" and it turned into a couple more small ones. It was last Spring. She's doing much better now and can drive again.
Scout and Roamer: Heroes are ordinary people that do what is right, no matter what, in extraordinary circumstances. That applies the most when people don't consider it anything out of the ordinary. They tell themselves "I would do it for any rider." The truth is you would probably do it for...
The distance bumps it off my radar. I can hardly stand to ride south of Seattle right now. Vancouver would be way too long one way right now. The round trip would have me laid up for a week or more.
