I have used the orange stuff on my '57 Chevy truck and it works well.  I use it in lieu of the red so that I don't have to fight to get the bolt out.

It was oil filter change time. I was looking at filters and picked up the Bosch. I knew the design had been changed. However it seems the design has changed back to the way it was. I bought one and it works fine and seals properly.

There was a member on here years ago, Ponyfool was his handle, I believe. Anyway, he pulled his engine and did just what you are asking about. You should be able to find his thread if you search for it.

I don't have any pictures, but I just upgraded my riding gear as well. I went with the BMW Ralley jacket and pants. They are a little on the pricey side, but I expect they will last a long time. I too had Olympia gear. There is no comparison to new pants and jacket.
