RTE - Sebring Fl area - Sometimes in April

I have enjoyed our RTEs. We should do it again. I am just throwing the Sebring area out cause it seems to be pretty centrally located. Plus there are decent roads around if we decide to ride before or after. I am pretty open the next few weekends. Anybody interested? Edit: RTE - Sebring...

    Tank Bags

https://www.revzilla.com/product/firstgear-silverstone-mini-tank-bag I like the one above. I has strong magnets and is made well. Also it looks great on a silver FJR. They make a couple different sizes. And for those so inclined a .380 fits perfectly in that top pocket.

    2016 MotoGP on US TV

I was beginning to think I made a mistake with the motogp video pass. I live in a small town without a very good option for internet. We have in the area ATT and Xfinity both are slow and unreliable in this area. I try my wife's new lap top both wireless and hard wired. The videos pause and...

The 2015/2016 Big FJR Tire Poll

I love the Metzelers on my cruisers the ME888 and 880 before it were great tires. Got better performance and double the mileage of any other tire I tired on the cruisers. I really want to try a set Metzelers on the FJR. But I hear so few good opinions on them. Maybe the roadtec is a viable...

    Advice on Using Tie-Downs

Haha. I was wondering if anyone tried that. I have to admit. I keep my Honda cruiser in my trailer on condors unstrapped and I have moved it to mow around. It hasn't fallen over yet. I never store the FJR in the trailer. It get's hot in there and I am not sure if that would do something to...

    Twenty somethings and the FJR

Funny I can't relate to sports bike to FJR. My time on sports bikes is very, very limited. I got on the FJR after riding a V-twin 1300. So my reaction was different. When breaking it in and not running up the rpms I was actually a bit disappointed. The engine felt buzzy and not all that...

What is a option from another bike you miss on your FJR?

Bike before the FJR was a big cruiser. Well, actually I still have it. So I guess I don't really miss anything cause I can ride it still. However, if the FJR was my only bike. 1. Top loading bags. Not a fan of the side loading bags. 2. Being able to flat foot the bike. With that being said...

    2016 MotoGP on US TV

I love MotoGP. For the last couple of years I have recorded every race and watch them on a Friday or Saturday evening. I don't really mind the lack of coverage in America. That meant no spoilers for me. I didn't have to worry about the news telling me the winner of the race. None of my family...

    AutoTrain

    Advice on Using Tie-Downs

I love my condor chalks. They would almost hold the bike up without straps. (No I haven't tried that) There are adjustment holes on the condors. I put the FJR in the 3rd hole and it does not rub. For the cruisers I leave the condors all the way to the last hole. My method: Condor chalks Soft...

Michelin Pilot Road 4 - GT version?

FXRS - I got 6,000 miles out of the original front tire (BT023)? It was gone. I replaced it with a PR4GT and got close to 12,000. It was gone also. Done to the wear bars. Back tires - I got around 8-10k out of the original. I got around 12k out of the PR4GT, but it still had some miles. I was...

Michelin Pilot Road 4 - GT version?

I posted in this thread a year ago. I wore those GTs out and loved the tire. Double the miles from the original tires. They handled great right to the end. Now fast forward to now and I still have PR4s, but I have non-GTs on the FJR. Didn't really plan it that way. Decided to change a tire...

Gen 2 touring windshield and Shoei Qwest Helmet

I don't think a modular helmet is allowed around here for track days. Has to be a full helmet with no hinge. That's a great helmet. I love mine.

    Daytona

Since the weather forecast is much improved I think I am going to ride up tomorrow. It's about 3.5 hours each way for me. So a nice long day ride. I will throw a bag on the back just in case I want to stay. I will probably get there and get irritated by all the traffic and just make a U-turn...

Am I Spoiled by the FJR?

Spoiled could describe it, but really I would say the FJR opened my eyes. I rode a cruiser for years and enjoyed it. Went for short day rides, long multi-day camping trips. They were all fun. Even took it to the Dragon and similar roads. I always had fun. Then came the FJR. It's a better bike...

Need help deciding 2015 vs 2016

I vote for the 2016! Too many upgrades to pass up. I love my 2013A, but looking back I wish I would have paid the up charge for a 2014ES. In my opinion the purchase of an FJR is a LONG term investment. Get the best right up front.

    Daytona

"I'd be open to any good advice. Thanks, Paul" Key West is very expensive this time of year. While it is nice to be near Duval at night you pay dearly for it. Sometimes the middle keys are a much cheaper option. Look for hotels up and down the chain of keys. Sometimes the ones not right near...

    The ONE Picture Ride Report

Gone to Texas. Went out to the Hill Country a couple of years ago. Not many places to pull off and get pictures. Texas is not real big on scenic pull outs. This was just a good place to stop and get a picture.
